I wonder what rounds people give to Sergey Kovalev past round 5...and why.
Round 10 was very close, round 6 was very close. But I don't know.

Nah. You guys think you're swimming against the current of sheep-think but you are in fact squarely INSIDE THE box of logical fallacy. Namely, you're falling into the scoring trap of sympathizing with a boxer losing a cluster of rounds and having one in there in which he does RELATIVELY better than in the ones surrounding it.

To my eyes it was close for Kovalev. I can see why people argue for Ward, just disagree... but to call it clear for him, on the basis of what, 2 eye-catching jabs (when the rest went pretty similarly to how 1-4 unfolded in general) - is folly.

Ok I found out. Why did you give round 6 to Kovalev? Ward got in quite a few body shots.

I'm going to let you think about how silly that question is.

    ...okay, you good?

    Want to rephrase?

If you want to discuss each of those 6 rounds individually, that is one thing. Asking somebody to justify why they gave a bulk number of rounds a certain way, though...

Scoring isn't something you discuss in broad terms. It should be done on a RBR basis. Each round its own isolated little thing.

    1-4, 6 & 10, incidentally.

Not in the minority on any of those, I believe.

You can refer to my synopses of each in the RBR posts for my evaluative perspective on what I saw to justify point allocation.

Ward landed a FEW outside non effective body shots ,compared to more cleaner jabs by Kovalev who also landed the best punch in that rnd which was a right hand in the final minute and that sums that rnd up of a Kovalev favored rnd which was mostly clinching by both. You cant win a fight like this and thats how the fight pretty much was barring a select few .

Is it the most viewed tape-delayed RBR of all time?

    By orders of exponent.

There is an equal but opposite trap. The "momentum trap". That's where you (incorrectly) score a round for fighter A based on his good performance in prior rounds. Either trap can and does occur.

That's why rounds should really be scored in scrambled order, where each judge sees a different scrambling.

8 out of 10 for me! I love those high drama chess matches, though they're nightmares to score!
