Hopkins by early stoppage or lopsided decision in the 119-109 range.

    Kovalev ends Hopkin's legendary career.

  3. i see a few people saying that, but i wonder, can Bhop smother a guy with this much power for 12 rounds? didn’t see it much yesterday but he can set up his shots when he wants. not sure if moving away from Kovalev is a good idea; the leverage on his punches is frightening. even with the Philly shell, just having a guy like Kov cracking on your shoulder, on your gloves, is gonna HURT. i think Bhop really needs to stand in the fire to try and take a decision because while he still has the reflexes, not sure he has the athleticism to move for 12. now i’ve said that, bet he sits on the ropes ala Rumble in der Jungle.

In the first round I thought Caparello was actually boxing and looked loose. I guess once he hits you the fun ends.

If Bear Nard can spoil and clinch for six rounds will Kovalev be able to deliver in the later, much less the championship rounds? How could we know? He’s never been past 8 rounds. If Hopkins just manages to take him deep it will be awesome, and I do think Hopkins might win. Probably going to pick Kovalev though. He’s only got to land a couple of times and they don’t have to be leveraged shots. Youth must be served.

He is not Dawson, who beat him easily at lhw, or Calzaaghe, but the Russian is just too strong. Hopkins will be on the defense too much after he gets hit and end up getting stopped or a clear decision, a

    I honestly can't decide yet.

One thing is for sure though, and that is that Hopkins believes he will win. I think his vast experience will count for a lot, although I don't know if it will be enough. Can't wait to find out.

    That's a brave prediction, Rummy.

I actually do think Kovalev has an outstanding chance. With Hopkins being 50 I think it's close to a 50-50 type fight actually. I will give my breakdown later, but I think the key for Hopkins comes in the first 2 rounds.

A lot of the reasons people give for Hopkins losing this fight, are the same reasons he was expected to lose against Tito 13 years ago. That just amazes me.

Mmmmm...Madonnas prime slutty years - damn, you must be nearly as old as I am.

But yeah... Hopkins hasn't won a top level fight since beating Pascal (who's only real big win was against a lacklustre Dawson).

IDK - I'm not gonna write Hopkins off by any means, but he's facing an entirely different animal to anyone who he's fought recently. Huge props to him for making this fight, but I think Kovalev stops him.

Kovalev by stoppage. I think Hopkins needs a KO to win. People talk about Hopkins winning a decision but I don't see that happening. I don't think that Hopkins at his age can handle the pace that Kovalev will set for 12 rounds. Kovalev is not going to let Hopkins rest.

Hopkins should get stopped here but you can never discount Hopkins going to the canvas and claiming a arm injury that brings a early halt to the fight
