You would think Kovalev will win, he's just too big, too powerful and too young for Bhop.

But I made a rule many years ago, never bet against Bhop.

    Nard by decision.

The whole issue is if B-Hop can make the fight ugly and scrappy enough to make it to the scorecards.

After his latest real big win (Pascal in 2011) and the two Dawson fights following that, B-Hop didn't really fought anywhere near Pascal's and Dawson's level anymore.
He beat Cloud, who has shown to be nothing special. The guy needed a disgraceful robbery against Campillo who got demolished by Kovalev himself.
He beat Murat, who was stopped by Cleverly (another easy Kovalev victim) and had drawn against... here he is again... Campillo...
He beat Shumenov, who already had a robbery win and a loss against... you guessed it right... Campillo! :!:

Wich tells you, no matter how overrated Cleverly was, that win and the Campillo win are actually better as B-Hops performances after the big 2011 upset against Pascal, and much easier as well.

What B-Hop did is incredible, but we have to see it in perspective. He mostly manages to upset the odds, but this time the odds are probably beyond 2012 Dawson level at the age of 50.
I never count the man out, but I really can't see a way for him to win.

I hate when people try to compare this fight versus BHOP and Pavlik. Kelly clearly does not have the stability and mental toughness of Kovalev plus size wise Kovalev is so much stronger than Kelly and Hopkins is not same fighter either.

Pavlik proved his self in the ring, which is why you're able to judge his "mental toughness". We don't really know how mentally or physically tough Kovalev is because his resume proves nothing so far.

I have Kovalev as a clear favorite. A boxer-puncher with ring smarts, stamina andmental toughness. This time Hopkins goes down.

Stamina? I dont think he has been over 8 rounds.

Kov isnt tested thats what makes this fight so interesting. If Kov is as dangerous over 12 rounds as he is over 4 then a stretcher might be involved at some point.

I'm very interested to see how he can adapt to Hopkins awkwardness and psychological game especially after 6 rounds.

It might be that Hop frustrates the hell out of him.

I rarely bet against Nard. This time I do think Kovalev will win though.

However, this is a pretty accurate statement IMO. If Hopkins is hit clean and can survive the first half of the fight. I think he will take Kovalev into deep water late and frustrate him. Hopkins WILL get hit clean many times, that is a fact not an opinion. We will see how he takes them. He was shook against Pascal a few times but Pascal seems quicker then Kovalev, while Kovalev is stronger.

love to see hopkins get knocked out, then take his tiny balls and leave boxing forever.

Sergey Kovalev has opened 4/11 (-275) betting favorite. Hopkins is a 2/1 (+200) underdog.

Hopkins looked better against Shumenov than he did vs Tarver or Pascal.

But I still agree that Kovalev wins, and it'll likely be a decision. :think

Hopkins will find a way to not lose, perhaps he'll fake an injury for a no contest.

He just has to survive the 12 rounds, the judges will do the rest for him.

At this age and stage of his career, yes Kovalev is very dangerous. Most guys don't stop opponents with glancing blows
