    Prediction:

Hopkins will cut Kovalev with a deliberate headbutt, and Bernard's home ref will call it a TKO.

Only way Hopkins wins is if a clash of heads(aka vintage Hopkins) cuts Kovalev and the bleeding impacts his vision.

I had Cleverly to beat Kovalev. :/
I never knew how accurate he was, or how he cut off the ring.
I knew about his power, but, he surprised me with his combo's

His accuracy though. That's going to surprise Hopkins.
I'm going for rd 6, both bloody. Hopkins against the ropes in his shell and wham, perfect body-shot makes him take a knee.
He'll call it quits after that.

He's going to try and make it as ugly as possible that's for sure. But, if he were smart, he'd switch it up and fight southpaw in spots. Kovalev does have some weaknesses against southpaws that he has showed. He leans to his right against southpaws and gets hit clean with straight left hands and he also has more of a tendency to jump straight back in a straight line against southpaws. If Hop were smart, he'd try this tactic. I don't think Hop is going to fare too well just trying to land a counter overhand right or a lead right hand and falling in. I believe switch hitting is his best chance to try and confuse Kovalev and make a fight out of it.

Is Kovalev going to use his trademark pelvic thrust as he beats on Hopkins?

Rumsfeld might cry in his bourbon!

That's what's mentioned a lot when it comes to this fight, only the ones posting it seem to forget a couple of very important differences.
First the Pavlik fight was 6 years ago and Trinidad no less than 13 years ago for a man who's pushing 50 now. Hard to believe B-Hop is still near Pavlik form and completely nonsense to think he's near Tito form.
Second both were career middleweights (Pavlik dragged up for one fight), while Kovalev is a career LHW.

Something tells me that Hopkins will somehow find the victory. I am a big fan of Kovalev and I hope he wins for everybody´s sake. But Hopkins will use every dirty trick in the book and frustrate Kovalev, fake ****, use elbows, forearms. The man still looks like he´s in his 30´s.

If Hopkins plays dirty and the ref oversees it, Kovalev has to make adjustments, it's that easy. If you are a real Champ you will find a way to win.

Hopkins has the stylistic advantage here and Kovalev is nothing he hasn't seen before, on the other hand Kovalev is one of those new breed Russians with a good amateur pedigree, throws accurate and hard combos and most importantly goes to the body. Probably the most interesting matchup this year for me.
