"I took a lot of headbutts. Like I said though, he's a dirty fighter. It's what we worked for, we knew he was going to headbutt. He hit me with like eight headbutts. I kept my composure, but it was obvious that he was doing it on purpose."

    That's what I expect.

And also deliberate headbutts and he'll likely also pretend to be injured from a foul.

Kovalev will be too much for Hopkins. Headbutts and elbows won't help him he is going to get rocked often.

I have a feeling Hopkins will frustrate the hell out of Kovalev and get a decision in an awful fight

Kovalev must not go head hunting....go for the body, hit arms , hips, shoulders, so be it, but keep plugging away and landing whatever wherever

I've been calling this fight in favour of Kovalev because I think Hopkins has declined too much to do what he does for the full 12 rounds to beat Kovalev. But I have changed my mind.

It all comes down to styles and Hopkins has the style to beat Kovalev. While I do think Hopkins is too old, he has proven me wrong time and again. I'm now going with Hopkins to win a narrow decision. Clearly my view is in the minority based upon this poll but this is what I think and if Kovalev wins he'll get nothing but praise from me.

hopkins the master spoiler will win on points and will look good doing it in the later rounds.

im not 100% sold on kovalev, put on his arse in the last fight and has yet to go past 7 rounds in his career, i agree he hits hard but b-hop is diffcult to land a clean punch on.

should be a good fight though.

I love 50-50 fights like this. No one knows what will happen and people go back and forth deciding who they think will win.

Kovalev by stoppage, perhaps not even by a clean shot. Hopkins will feel the power even with partly blocked shots.

Interesting analysis and a breakdown of what Kovalev's strengths are from former opponent Lionell Thompson.

    [YT]Or9uJFdQmk0[/YT]

He's picking Kovalev, although like many (including myself) he thinks the referee will play a crucial role in the fight, although a few months ago he wasn't quite as complimentary about Kovalev and he said he thought B-Hop was going to win. Strange as he doesn't give him much chance at all now (see first video).

Good Kovalev interview. Unbelievable that he basically had to fight for free for his first 18 fights in the US, for 3 years.

I think Hopkins force Kovalev to fight his fight and either win a UD or stop him on cuts late. At any rate, I am hoping for a good fight regardless of who wins.

    Interesting.

He says whether B-Hop survives the distance or not depends on whether the referee lets Hopkins hold.

You hate Wlad and disparage him all the time, yet you love Hopkins and always praise and defend him. Is that a double standard?

I believe the same standards should apply to all boxers.
