Magdaleno is running in and doubling up on the hard penetrating 1-2, knocking Rodriguez into the ropes. Rodriguez steadies himself with his arms splayed out along them, but was clearly held up by them, and Robert Byrd give him a standing eight count. HARD lead right hook on the mouth by Magdaleno, following with a shallow left uppercut on the sternum when Rodriguez lifts his arms to protect his face showing impressive recovery and mindfulness but making the strategic error of leaving himself open downstairs while keeping watch for more headhunting Magdaleno right hooks. Rodriguez is backed up by a series of right hooks from barking Magdaleno, blocking and unable to get a punch off edgewise.

Magdaleno is chiseling away on Rodriguez with stiff jabs, left uppercuts, and right hooks. Magdaleno is putting his full weight to fore and driving through with every punch. Rodriguez is able to screen out most of them with a high guard in retreat but is getting hit enough for Magdaleno to clearly outscore him, not that Rodriguez is generating any points for himself whatsoever shied into 100% defensive mode, particularly when caught in the corners.

I missed his debut earlier this year and will have to decide in a bit when they show him.

 

No, this particular Aussie (or "Euro bum", as the very worldly and cosmopolitan Hopkins likes to call 'em) shouldn't pose a party-spoiling threat. I'd probably even now tip Green to stop his countryman, actually. Caparello ain't terrible, he possesses a little skill - just no power and very basic.

This won't be another Provodnikov vs. Algieri surprise where the feather-fist who's supposed to get KTFO ends up administering the big heavily favored puncher a boxing lesson, I don't think.

Magdaleno is working his left uppercuts on the body in lead and following with the right hook up top. Rodriguez is doing nothing except playing catch and ducking away, pawing up a few left jabs but offering no sincere resistance as Magdaleno practices his full battery of combinations moving forward.
