I think people will favour Mustafa Muhammad here, but I think this is a true 50/50 and an interesting clash of styles, maybe not a barnburner, but interested to see whether Mustafa would try to box and jab with Kovalev, or try to pressure him and take Kovalev’s jab away. I actually think Mustafa would be making a mistake trying to box with him, Kovalev looked like he had long arms and did have a very well schooled jab, one of the best at 175lbs, and he wasn’t elite on the inside, and Musta was great on the inside, yes he could box, but I think he’d be giving himself an advantage by trying to take the fight to Kovalev. Who wins this matchup?
If Eddie shows up and wants to win he would put a beating on him and he would stop him. If he thinks Ward's body shots were a problem wait till Eddie starts going down stairs. But that was always the problem with Eddie - which one was going to show up.
Different level of skill set. The Eddie that broke down Marvin Johnson would be too good for Kovalev IMO and would break him down to the body as well as the head. I see a comfortable decision or late stop. He put on an absolute clinic against poor Marvin. That body attack was hell, so powerful yet so smooth.
