This thread just shows me that most posters here are incapable of H2H debate or style analysis. Only a few posters here managed it, properly, at all. They also seem to ignore contextual factors of both fighters, and will quickly resort to disingenuous nit-picky arguments against the fighters they pick to lose. Incredible how many people here are extrapolating the showcase skills of Toney at 160 or 168 and applying them to their representation of him as a 175lber, when in reality he was not as impressive and experienced a drop off at the weight, alongside never dealing with, let alone beating clearly, a Kovalev-esque talent at said weight. I actually think you can make a good case for Toney (which is why I posted) but only one person managed to explain why with proper style reasoning. Everyone else is 'lmao Toney stomps' or 'counters, bro'. The ironic thing is that people will quickly do things in their argument for fighters like Toney that they would complain if done for Marciano etc. I'm convinced classic as a whole barely watches full fight film and cannot analyse or score a fight to save their life.

    .... jk

The issue with boxing is that most people don't actually understand what they are watching which covers a lot of the vague posts on this forum. I understand the irony of my post in this thread - people can't form arguments because honestly without spending time studying a fighter or boxing properly you are going in blind that's why you get people talking up common opinions as gospel because they can't think for themselves "Manny said" ect they don't understand all the intricacies however obvious to an actual boxer or someone who understands boxing.

Take the Yuh vs Lopez thread the other day @greynotsoold pointed out how often Yuh squared up where as most people where in the Pokémon brain argument "If he didn't like Rosendo's pressure..." ect you get me? This is why I cut most boxing fans some slack because not everyone "gets it"
