Kovalev went from being perhaps the most liked boxer active to being hated by everybody.

Team Krusher? Threads of constant praise? Claims of generational greatness? That vanished the moment he hit the canvas in round 11. And like I said, he was among ESB's top three most beloved fighters (same groupies of Golovkin, Pacquiao).

Maybe Kovalev team choose Barrera with this scenario: Kovalev impresses and win by KO, then get a third fight against Pascal and then Bivol.

I’m assuming Barrera will be a big favorite in this fight seeing as how many posters been talking about how washed up kovalev is to get iced by a protected mw.

I think it's because he made for exciting fights before, sold out and mocked his fans for supporting him up until his pitiful passive performance. Doesn't mean he wasn't watchable. I don't think anyone considered him totally elite or delusionally thought he had any of his prime left. It's just in his prime he was fun to watch. Albeit a scumbag in retrospect.

Don't know why all the hate for KOV?

Floyd beat up his baby mother in front of his kids yet people still suck his nuts to this DAY!
    To this day!

Maybe he has some Mental health issues.

Kovalev came back way too soon for the Canelo fight, clearly did it for the money, yes the Krusher is shot, but so is Barrera. This will look similar to the Bivol-Barrera match, Sullivan gets his head jabbed off and stopped in 8.

For what it's worth, I still like Kovalev and deep down think he's a good guy, but he is really trying my patience, he badly needs to get his **** together, yeah he's got mental health issues, substance abuse issues and anger management problems, but none of those are valid excuses for his behavior. Act like a man Krusher and grow the **** up. It's just a sport, you win some you lose some, get over it.

In fairness, it's a sport renowned for consuming it's subjects. The list of people who can't live without boxing is endless.
