Joe Smith Jr. is apparently a 4-1 favourite over Vlasov. I favour Smith Jr. to win and I'm sure they're factoring Vlasov being the away fighter and all those EE fighters getting stitched up by the judges over in the US too but Vlasov is a very good fighter and much better than those odds suggest.

Lipinets is tough as nails but i think hes going to take a beating today.

They better have the towel ready.

    12-1 is ridiculous.

I favor Ennis and I do think he will win, but...

Lipinets is a really good counterpuncher who holds his ground and that could be a problem for a guy who commits too much too early. I think Ennis has maybe shown a bit of a tendency to do that. I can remember a fight a couple years ago with another Philly guy (Serrano? ) and his opponent wasn't quite as reluctant to lock himself in a phone booth and return heavy fire as maybe Boots figured he would be. Boot's solution to that was to lose his cool a bit and throwing stuff that looked pretty low.

I like Jaron and I credit him for picking a tough opponent at this relatively-early stage of his career...but there is a whiff of danger in this fight if Boots doesn't find things working out as quickly for him as he thought.

Definitely. I'd have this fight at 2-1. I think that Smith Jr was already at risk to look past this fight to start with and that COVID diagnosis for Vlasov (how do you even verify if a fighter is telling the truth about a positive diagnosis?) probably raises that danger further. I look at the top guys that Joe Smith Jr beat and where they were in their careers...and they don't seem a heck of a lot better than Vlasov.

Me too. I picked Smith via late stoppage but Vlasov is a damned good fighter and he has a slick, awkward and tricky style which might just be all wrong for Smith. It's a bit similar to Williams vs Andrade. Williams hits like a truck but Andrade's slick awkward style might just be all wrong for him and as with tonight's fight we won't know until they're in the ring with each other. This is a distance fight on paper so it will be very impressive if Smith does get him out of there or vice versa.

Where on earth are you getting those odds?!

And btw, even that isn't 1/12, its 1/10.

Lipinets is better than the guy that dropped Crawford.
