Sergey Lipinets is a 5'7 27 year old Light Welterweight with a 14-1 10 KO's record. Born in Martuk, Kazakhstan and fighting out of Ozery, Russia. A former kickboxer who handlers said he's so good he'll be a champion by the end of 2015 if given the opportunity, well that may not have come to pass, but he did snag 2 fairly impressive scalps in beating the ultra slick undefeated Lydell Rhodes by UD and stopping grizzled veteran Cosme Rivera late, something the very talented Ponomarev was incapable of doing. He's signed on with Al Haymon and is yet another in the growing stable of Eastern European beasts he's added to his roster. He's spent time sparing at the Wild Card and got his start in 8 rounders bypassing the standard 4 rounders that most new pros begin with. He's a brutal pressure fighter who pounds away at the body relentlessly and eventually destroying the head, he also manages to apply more intelligent pressure than most come forward fighters, effectively cutting off the ring and working behind his jab. He's a very exciting to watch potential money maker. So Check Out another Kazakh Killer in Action. :ggg:ggg:ggg:ggg

I remember watching his fight against Rhodes, pretty powerful and methodical but he didn't throw any combos and needs to cut the ring better :think

I thought he did quite well in that match actually, Rhodes was a hell of a runner, ran harder than Lara vs Canelo, so all things considered how the match ended up in the last few rounds, his pressure got to him and he didn't really need to cut off the ring that well, but he could use some improvement in that department.

He threw every punch with mean intention :yep Rhodes did run a lot
I'd like to see him throw more combos, him, Berynchik and Baranchyk could forge a nice backbone of the 140 division.

Lipinets is excellent. He fights much in the same vein as other Eastern Europeans, but he looks like he could be a bit better than his Slavic brethren at 140. He is quicker on the draw than Troyanovsky, a harder puncher than Postol, and sharper and a bit less careless than Berinchyk. If he learns to jab more and wait less, he will be a threat to anyone.

Unless one of them decides to take a step back, yeah probably, although if anyone does it'll be Levan.
