Scott Jenkins vs. Rakhim Mingaleyev, 6 rounds @ welterweight

 

Round 1

Mingaleyev is chopping with a short little hatchet jab as he rapidly circles left, then covering up when Jenkins moves in to scores with two-pieces. Mingaleyev is caught by a big right cross and then stumbles onto the canvas, ruled a slip. Jenkins is pecking between the gloves with a double jab and then hitting the body. Mingaleyev is down off a body shot. Mingaleyev runs out the round, jabbing and shrinking into a ball.

Jesus, how old is Mingaleyev?

More than half his hair is gray, and his face resembles one of those troll-doll toys from the 80's and early 90's.

Without looking on Boxrec, I am going to guess...42? (and that actually feel like me being generous...)

 

Round 2

Jenkins is jabbing in and hooking the body, doubling Mingaleyev over. Slapping rights on the head by Jenkins, pummeling Mingaleyev into submission and making him bend over, where Jenkins aims left hooks into his face and the side of his body. Mingaleyev is pushed into a corner and hooked all over the body, falling down under the accumulation. Mingaleyev is angry with the ref for declaring it a knockdown, although it was very clearly a knockdown. :blood Mingaleyev circles away from Jenkins, in a peekaboo stance. Chopping rights on the neck and left hooks on the liver by Jenkins. Big right uppercut by Jenkins just missing as Mingaleyev curls up and twists away.

Round 3

Mingaleyev is getting slapped across the face by the hooks of Jenkins and then barely positioning his forearms in the way of the uppercuts meant to put the kibosh. Mingaleyev is tying up and circling away. Jenkins busily pumps his fists in and keeps Mingaleyev backtracking, tapping him repeatedly on the head but with every other shot partially caught on Mingaleyev's gloves.

Yeah. Four more after tonight and he will reach the glorious 100 bouts mark. (and probably exceed the inglorious seventy losses mark :!

He actually debuted when troll dolls were at the peak of their popularity. :rofl '94.

To put things in perspective:

Mingaleyev fought the likes of J. Juuko, Scott Harrison, Philip N'Dou, Paul Ingle, Nicky Cook, Alex Arthur, Willie Limond and Gavin Rees - when they were all young prospects.

...and even then he was quite a bit older than all of them. :shock:

 

Round 4

Mingaleyev is continuing to get clapped upside the head, blocking what he can, pushed around by the man less than half of his age. Jenkins is jabbing Mingaleyev in the face and beating him around the shoulders and throat with the clubbing right when Mingaleyev leans forward to snub the attacks. Mingaleyev is unable to tie the stronger man up and can't get away from him, left with no choice but to block and take punches while getting swept along like a leaf.

Radoslav Mitev vs. Kristian Dochev, 6 rounds @ light welterweight

 

Round 1

Dochev is ducking and weaving in, arms up, throwing at the body of Mitev with both hands. Mitev steps back and shimmies from side to side, throwing straight counters as he pulls his upper body away.
