    Round 1

Derevyanchenko is working his way in with the left jab, as Culcay hops laterally and in diagonals on the outside to make the Ukrainian lunge. Derevyanchenko push-poles a right hand downstairs, but Culcay is able to shimmy clear of it. Culcay sprinkling in pot shot jabs and looping rights jumping in before dashing out to safety once more, giving Derevyanchenko plenty of respect and leaving him no time for getting set to counter. Lots of jittery movement by Culcay, tagging Derevyanchenko on the belt line with a deftly torpedoed right jumping in. Derevyanchenko tries sticking him with a 1-2 above the navel but Culcay sucks in his gut and leaps backward.

    10-9 Culcay

    Round 2

Derevyanchenko is just watching and waiting on Culcay. A jew fab and spearing right combos downstairs, but Culcay is using evasive sidesteps and mathematical compass pivots on the ball of his lead foot to keep Derevyanchenko missing, further lowering his work rate as he becomes discouraged with his unexpectedly (and uncharacteristically) low accuracy. Culcay meanwhile is content just to pot shot and get in some touches on the body while floating around Derevyanchenko.

    10-9 Culcay

    20-18 Culcay

    Round 3

Derevyanchenko is starting to get closer to Culcay, hammering the guard with high inclined jabs aimed between his eyes and thudding straight rights into the sternum, but Culcay is just about managing to screen everything out, although many blocked shots rock him back an involuntary step on his rear heel. Culcay is peppering Derevyanchenko up top with double jabs and quick stinging rights. Derevyanchenko is starting to connect with his plunging jab on the belt line stomping forward. Roughhousing in the clinch as each man grabs the other by the scruff of the neck & shakes him. Derevyanchenko trying some rolling & weaving to get inside but Culcay still jabbing & grabbing at just the right moments to nullify him.

    10-9 Culcay, the closest yet

    30-27 Culcay

    Round 4

Derevyanchenko is starting to feint with the right hand lead and instead get the measure of Culcay with the jab and then loop a hard right into his temple. Derevyanchenko manages to fool him with this move a few times, and Culcay is visibly alarmed by the force of Derevyanchenko's blows, making a hasty break for it, half-bowing and half-running across the ring. Derevyanchenko is clinched every time he gets close as Culcay dives in and throws his arms wide around Derevyanchenko's waist. Derevyanchenko walks through Culcay's jabs willingly, letting them skim off his nose, and smashes down on Culcay's forehead with heavy right hands.

    10-9 Derevyanchenko

    39-37 Culcay

I'm watching the PBC broadcast of this, btw, except I have it on mute as I'm enjoying my stoner rock & doom metal station on Pandora.

    ...besides, screw commentary. :sisi1

The unofficial scorer has it 38 all, with Derevyanchenko rounds bookending Culcay's second & third.

I had the Culcay sweeping the first four rounds when I did the RBR live. I agree that Rd2 and Rd3 were close rounds.

    Round 5

Derevyanchenko is now executing his feints very effectively, making Culcay bite just about every other time, and thus accordingly landing about half of his power shots. Culcay is ducking in with abortive clinch attempts, then ripping big counter uppercuts hoping to slow Derevyanchenko unsuccessfully. Derevyanchenko is jabbing his way in, using far more efficient footwork to get to Culcay no matter where in the ring he zips to in his manic canter. Derevyanchenko reaching down and gladly whacking the side or back of Culcay's skull when he ducks.

    10-9 Derevyanchenko, somewhat close

    48-47 Culcay

    Round 6

Derevyanchenko is confidently swimming counter-clockwise around Culcay, jabbing as he goes, darting in like a viper at the first sign of weakness in Culcay's shifting defenses (sometimes high guard and sometimes more of a shoulder roll) or lapses in concentration as he whirls in place. Derevyanchenko never more than a pace away from Culcay, who is stretching himself over to his side to make a smaller target, but still getting found often enough. Just a few pot shot counter jabs from Culcay.

    10-9 Derevyanchenko

    Round 7

Derevyanchenko is zooming in with lead rights as Culcay plants his lead foot, swivels on the left hip and smacks Derevyanchenko in the mouth with a counter hook, doing nothing to slow him down. Even in the clinches, Derevyanchenko is doling out damage, turning his fists upside down and cork-screwing them up into Culcay's ribs. A bit less pep in Culcay's step now as he darts away from the pocket with his left arm held low, breathing more laboriously. Derevyanchenko able to use feints as effectively as ever, starting with a right hand downstairs to which Culcay overreacts, leaving him vulnerable to a left on the ropes.

    10-9 Derevyanchenko

    67-66 Derevyanchenko

    Round 8

Derevyanchenko is controlling the action in the center of the ring with a jab and 1-2 until Culcay decides to barrel into him, kamikaze style, with a rolling overhand right, from which it devolves into a sloppy melee at tight quarters. Pause to fix loose tape on Culcay's glove. Derevyanchenko fakes a jab and drives a right hand into Culcay's abdomen, grazing as Culcay hops away. Nice left hook downstairs by Derevyanchenko, grinding his way in. Culcay jabs his way clear of the ropes and slaps weakly up top with a right hand bouncing off the side of Derevyanchenko's head, doubling it up but not getting so much as one blink from the Ukrainian. Derevyanchenko loads up on a can opener right and misses as Culcay sways backward. Lead right by Derevyanchenko grazes and has Culcay moving away in double-time. Culcay launching desperate counter uppercuts in the final half-minute as Derevyanchenko walks him down, but Derevyanchenko is able to slip punches while hunting on the front-foot.

    10-9 Derevyanchenko

    Round 9

Derevyanchenko is landing jabs and chopping rights or uppercuts, then shoving both forearms violently into Culcay's midsection with the dual purpose of setting him up for the next volley (preventing a clinch or slinking roll into a ball sidling up against Derevyanchenko's flanks) and knocking the wind from him to prevent him from running. Culcay is getting mauled, Derevyanchenko lowering his head down to waist height and torquing big rights into the body. Culcay slapping away for dear life with hooks but Derevyanchenko shrugging them off like raindrops.

    Round 10

Derevyanchenko is nailing Culcay with the 1-2, settling into a jaunty rhythm, trotting in to score and then spiraling partway outside but never outside punching range. Culcay looking tired, barely able to squeeze his elbows together in a belated attempt to pinch out a Derevyanchenko lead right on the belly. Derevyanchenko is toying with him. Quick jabs flicked up from the hip into the nose and open mouth of Culcay as Derevyanchenko walks him down, looping occasional rights into the body. Culcay ties up and holds on until forced to relent. Left hook by Derevyanchenko jumping in, anticipating the clinch from Culcay and folding himself leftward in midair to land with added emphasis before the inevitable tangle of arms. WILD exchange in the final ten seconds, with Culcay landing one solid right but then loading up on big shots and missing so badly he winds up stumbling past Derevyanchenko so they are behind each other, back to back.

    10-9 Derevyanchenko

    97-93 Derevyanchenko
