    Round 1 Martínez 10-9
Round 2 Martínez 10-9, very close
    Round 3 Martínez 10-9, close
    Round 4 Martínez 10-9
    Round 5 Martínez 10-9

Sergio stakes out the middle of the ring and is circling, landing jabs and straight lefts, one jab rocks Rose's head back violently, he seemed shook up by it, Sergio lands some right hooks to the body, then lands another heavy jab, Rose goes for a right, Sergio slips it. Rose now trying to inch his way forward throwing rights but Sergio slipping most of them, they're trading jabs, then Sergio late in teh round unleashes a very fast one two that rocks Rose along teh ropes, to seal the round for him.

Sergio coming forward, throwing jabs and lefts, they both lug i another head clash, but no cut, Sergio lunging in now, Rose making him miss, he loses balance and almost goes down in the corner they hold, Rose lands several body shots in the clinch, Rose lands a hard one two, Serfip takes it well, Sergio getting very sloppy, he's lunging too much and missing a lot, Rose is ultra orthodox, guarding his chin, with his right cocked ad ready to throw, walking Sergio into one twos. and hard straight rights, Sergio gets wild, lunges in and misses a combo, but a hook lands partially on Rose's forearm and head but Rose fires back a one two to win round fairly easily.

Sergio starts the 7th looking far more composed and settled down, he stakes out the middle of the ring again and is circling, landing jabs, and straight lefts to the body, then inexplicably, he winds up and throws a massive haymaker, missing by a mile, throwing himself off balance and across the ring, Rose follows looking to capitalize, but Sergio avoids it with head movement, Rose pressures hima cross the ring, Sergio makes him pay lands a lopping left up top, knocking his head back, then lands a heavy one two, ose looked rocked for a second or two, Rose goes for several rights and one twos in the last minute, misses most of them. Sergio gets wild and misses his late as well.

Both men not doing much, Sergio circling and throwing out the jab at least, Rose eats a jab, then another a few seconds later, he stumbles backward and goes down, was that a loss of balance? Yes, but he also went down on a punch, debatably, that should have been a KD. Sergio then throws a wild left, misses badly, Rose and Sergio tie up, Rose works the body, Sergio lands a looping right hook up top, then showboats, then lands another looping power jab, Rose goes for one two, Sergio headlocks him, Rose overshoots with a right, eats heavy jab and straight left, really good rond for Sergio, he's grinning from ear to ear feeling it now.

Martinez once again circling the middle of the ring, Rose throwing one twos, Sergio slipping almost everyone with his superior head movement, then firing back with heavy jabs, there's another weird foot issue in an exchange and Rose goes down again, but it was probably a slip, Sergio jabs him a few more times, a relatively quiet round, Sergio far more accurate.

Both men while tired, still fairly game, but also sloppy, Rose trying to catch him with counters, Sergio's head movement still sharp enough to evade most of them, Sergio and Rose both landing their fare share of jabs, Sergio managing to land the heavier ones, Rose goes for some one twos, Sergio fires back landing his, but overall a fairly ugly round, Sergio outworked him by a hair or two.

    99-91 Martínez

98-92 and 97--93 Martínez is fine as well.

I was too, and after seeing that, I have zero desire to see him in against someone with a pulse. Granted, I also felt that way before seeing it. Sergio looked decent, his reflexes were still there at least against a Rose level guy, and that was good to see, and while he and Rose were both tired in the 10th, neither were badly gassed. So his stamina is still decent. But his balance is still off and he easily loses his footing when sitting down on a shot. As long as he stays at this level, I have less of an issue with him hanging around for a few more fights, he seems to be enjoying himself, but someone needs to have an intervention with him if he even contemplates stepping in with someone with even a faint pulse.

For a 46 year old with bad knees and less than stellar balance, pretty excellent. But as an actual contender, not even close.

    Great stuff, thanks.

He was awesome to watch in his prime, so I'd hate to see him get embarrassed.

So the Martinez comeback rolls on, some news sites are saying he was lucky to get the decision, any truth in that?

thanks for the reply, I've seen a few snippets now on youtube, I guess Rose's local news can't take that he didn't win, he did rock Sergio though (nothing major but Sergio needs to avoid any big hitters), I just hope Maravilla doesn't end up embarresing himself, I wouldn't mind seeing him beat up ODLH before he hangs em up again
