    Oh I get it. My Argentine cousin had Italian parents who wanted to name him Enrico, but he had legally be named Enrique. Spanish are crazed about names....you know who the mother is but not necessarily the father so you use the mother's name not the father's.

    Yeah there's a lot of cross-pollination between Argentina and (lots of European countries but in particular) Spain, so you do get some people that end up having to truncate names, dropping a fourth part and making other tweaks when emigrating.

    I added the match to my Kirk's Fight List on March 5th, a day or two after @Chuck Norris posted the announcement of it on Twitter, so close. It was just over two weeks ago.

    We've known about this fight down here since March 1, when it was announced. And Maravilla has been talking about a fight since January.

    Huh, weird. I looked after the announcement of GGG vacating to see if Maravilla had anything cooking (since he was, absurdly, damn close to a mandatory position behind I think just one person after Lara) but there was nothing up on BoxRec and for Twitter...ah, yeah, I probably entered "Sergio Gabriel Martínez" as my search criteria, which doesn't always hit if the version without a diacritic is used.

    Update: no it doesn't. In my haste I was pronouncing Teherán as bisyllabic (like Tehran, capital of Persia :oops:) and incorrectly rendering the second "e" silent.

    Shame upon my cow.
