If Chavez can't stop a decrepit 43 year old, it's time to hang it up.

Prime Martinez vs GGG or Canelo at 160 would be fantastic fights, but he is only coming back for a payday against a totally overrated but still popular bum.

If he beats Chavez, 2019 May Canelo-Martinez, mark my words

These guys are more washed up than the Pacific Ocean. It might be a fun bout but it means nothing in the context of their careers.

    I think it's time anyway.

And whether or not he can seems to be a pick em.

Neither one of these guys, regardless of who wins, is going to come out of this looking good or deserving of much credit. And as @David B duly noted - knees don't recuperate after the age of 40. He's going to be hobbling around looking even more like Lt. Dan than he did when he faced Miguel.

Agreed but in light of that do we give Maravilla even more credit for the rematch win than we did the original?

I don't know man. I'm honestly wondering how Sergio is even going to have a proper training camp. Even if his knees were a non-issue, he was definitely on the slide his last couple of years, and his entire style depended on stellar movement and good legs. I'm no medical expert, and maybe Sergio wanted the Cotto payday so badly that he was deep in the midst of an injury at that time that has since "healed" somewhat.

On the flip side, Chavez has fallen so far, with efforts so lackluster in recent years, that even if Sergio managed to hobble his way around the ring like hop along Cassidy and outpoint Jr over the duration - I have a hard time imagining him getting more credit than the first time around, when he closed the show in the manliest way imaginable.

I can see GG fight the winner of this 2, and look like a prime beast once again!

Is this a DAZN play for the Latino boxing fan?

At 168 most likely or some funny catch weight.

Chances are Martinez is still mangled

Eddie taking a risk here, this fight could do great or it could bomb.

Thee Sergio Martinez? The same one that's mid 40s and last seen barely able to stand against Cotto 4 years ago?

    Stay retired dude

He's 43 and his legs had gone 4 years ago.

    Wtf is he thinking?
