He was in the 4th and 5th, and first half of the 6th. He was outhustling Torres and stymying him with jabs & shoeshines for a spell...but now the Filipino has remembered what body punching is, and that it was serving him well earlier. :sisi1

Not to sound like an elitist snob or anything, but couldn't the DJ have pulled up some of the banger deep cuts from the Aqua catalogue? :shakehead:

Torres gave away too much of R8, and relied on a late surge of repeat action swinging door right hooks, but Perouene was able to smother most of them by pushing down and wrapping them around his arm.

    10-9 Perouene, 77-75 Torres

Holy hell, wtf happened to Torres in the 9th!!! He was doing his thing, marching up to Perouene, getting outworked, but chucking bombs and keeping the jab flowing regularly (although one could argue maybe too conservatively...but never taking a few steps without putting out at least one) and then all of a sudden he just FREEZES, looking very weary and getting his mug pelted over and over by flush 1-2s from Perouene, who gets a huge pop from the crowd and starts piling it on in super-Saiyan mode, and Torres looks hurt and ready to wilt, but recovers and rides out the round normally as if nothing happened.

    10-9 Perouene

    86-85 Torres

The feather-fisted Argentine will have definitely earned his flowers (and my respect) if he claws his way from an early hole and butt-whooping to an upset victory or even - as my card would have it should he win this last round - a mild upset draw.

10th was fun. They rumbled. Perouene got in his licks, and was busier as usual, but was hurt a few times.

    96-94 Torres

I only watched the second half but it was a good little scrap that, enjoyed what I watched.

    Official cards:

    96-94 Torres
    96-94 Perouene
    96-94

SD for Torres ...and the NEW! (inaugural, actually...this was for the IBO's vacant IberoAmerican featherweight title, its first ever contest)

The sexiest quadragenarian in professional boxing is starting to morphing into a less hideous version of Fred Armisen. Which means..... he ain't sexy no more.:deal:

So yeah, based on what I saw today @PinoyProdigy, can definitely affirm that in the pros anyway Magsayo is some levels above his old conqueror from the amateurs. Torres has some components of a good fighter, but feels like an incomplete package. FW isn't crazy deep at the moment nor loaded with young talented prospects in the pipeline, so maybe he could in the next few years grab a vacant strap or knock off a weak paper champ, but...his ceiling might honestly be trading up his IBO regional trinket for their version of a world championship.

Well, if you're not into the handsome grandpa look, he is at the very least a butterface. Abdominals shredded like they've no business whatsoever being as his age. :sisi1
