I agree, he looked ten times better than his last fight . . . if he stays on this track he might have a chance against the older bro. He needs to work on head movement . . . **** why cant the heavies learn the game?

i watched stiverne live in montreal at the alcine-santos fight, when i seen his power and crisp punches in person i knew he was good, all he was missing was a good work rate and better movement, which he showed tonight, great fight..

but one thing ive noticed from all his fights ive seen, he only puts as much effort as he needs, where as he should always put in effort and stay behind his jab

youre getting carried away. I was impressed with Stiverne against a journeyman like Arreola but Arreola is a stationery target who is very easy to hit and has a very limited almost predictable arsenal of punches. Stiverne dominated a pretty crude fighter tonight and thats that. guys like Byrd present a whole host of other problems.

lol what class are you talking about....all I saw is one average or possibly above average hw outclassing a crude fighter who should now be considered a journeyman. The fight itself was entertaining and good but not great by any stretch of imagination.

    Get your terms right...

Arreola should not be considered a journeyman like you say. He's a gatekeeper, remember? One step above. When he loses a few times to upcoming contenders, than he is demoted to journeyman.

    ;)

im rating the fight, not the fighters themselves, as class...ive never been high on stiverne although he's got some heavy hands and arreola, well he's arreola but they got busy and had a damned good brawl....plus they were contenders not like mollo-szpilka from earlier this year (which was a good fight too)...something the heavyweight division lacks these days so thats why im high on it

Stiverne showed some srious skills here and there. I know some people say he has no skills as a boxer, yet he showed some good parts in his game. You can say what you want but Stiverne has serious power and his punching technique is GREAT! I see so many fighters who cant even punch proper (Chisora:lol:). Also he showed that he can work with his jab and that he can take a punch.
Stiverne also knocked out Price in the amateurs and won on points against Helenius. I give Stiverne a serious chance of beating old Vitali.

Phew the youngsters never learn Stiverne Obliterates Vitali. Thats a no brainer. only because of vitali age Vitali in his younger days would win SD12.
I woud give loads of props to Vitali if he fought his upcoming mandatory. :happy
