    Sergio can fight at 154.

Both these guys (Pac and May) won a light middle weight title.

    Whats the problem?

Unless they are ready to admit that these were not "true" 154 titles? :hey

Sergio Martinez has become an annoyance now. Yeah, we get it, you want a payday. The big 3 though (Mayweather, Pacquaio, Cotto) each did it from the bottom to get to the top to where they earn the big money they get now, for over a decade or more. Each one has BUILT their own fiercely large and very loyal fanbases who will support them no matter what and even some haters who pay to see them lose.

Martinez doesn't even have a fanbase! He has fans from diehard followers of boxing, but based on his ticket sales in his last fights there at AC, he can't even sell out half of the tickets. The last fight vs. Dzi, more than half the Boardwalk Hall was empty. He says "we can promote", no you wouldn't . It would be either Cotto, Mayweather, or Pacquaio who would be the ones doing the promoting cause nobody buys the tickets to see you! He simply doesn't bring any incentives for any of them to fight him, that's why Cotto said the TRUTH, he can't make money fighting him, the only one who would get anything from it is Martinez. It's not about any ducking, these guys each have a base they are paid for big-time fights and the share of the gate and PPVs.

If Martinez maybe hadn't been in limbo for oh ALL of his career except the last 2 years, he could have steered his career more like a Winky Wright type who was able to manueveur his way into the B side of promotions later in his career and get some nice money near the tail-end. He should really keep his focus on Barker and stop talking about the money-making fighters or else he will end up right back where he was not too long ago: unable to sell even a loaf of bread to homeless people on the street...IOW, even more unknown.

And how is it Pac and PBF's responsibility to get MArtinez paid? Why not fight ODLH and get the ODLH effect like Pac and PBF did?

What reward? Less money compared to other fighters or the hate that is going to follow for "draining him down to 154?"

Sergio wants a big fight and deserves it, he's performed well and has challenged himself, nothing wrong with trying to get paid.

Pac already said he would not make a fight above 150

Didn't Sergio get the memo when he said he would drop down to 150 to fight Pac?

    Guess not

On the scene of boxing, someone said that for the Dzirunuk fight, Sergio made a little over $1 million dollars and that for this fight with Barker, he will get $1.4 million dollars and with a new contract he signed with Dibella, he would be getting $1.8 million guaranteed for any fights afterwards. So, he is making some money there. Doesn't Berto, thanks to Al Haymon, get paid $1 million a fight for fighting scrubs and dishwashers?

In fairness to Sergio, he would definitely own Cotto in a soccer duel.

    He played semipro in Argieland.

Sergio already beat a far taller, rangier and feared fighter in PW.

He already schooled the lineal middleweight champion, who is a very large middleweight btw.

He has already proven that he can beat bigger, taller men. He doesn't have to prove anything more in this department. The guy is barely 5''9 for heavens sake and he's 36.

People who say "Sergio must fight S6 winner" simply are Pac or Floyd fans eager to see Sergio move as far away from their heroes as possible.

Reading between the lines: "Sergio should fight S6 winner. Sergio should fight Bhop" simply means: "Sergio is the only really legitimate threat to Pac and Floyd so please go as far away from them as you can."

:deal exactly. If your gunna fight Margarito for a light middle weight belt then dont turn around later and say 'but Martinez is too big'

Pacs a cherry picking ****. Same for Mayweather he ought to fight Martinez too.
