Why can't you wait until we see the outcome of GG-Macklin before making this thread? It's a bit embarrassing. Beating two JMW journeyman doesn't suddenly make you the best at MW. I'm sure what appears be a declining Sergio would have an easy time with Ishida and Rosado. If GG beats Macklin convincingly I will be inclined to say he beats Sergio. I just have a feeling GG will have a hard time dealing with Macklin's boxing skills.

Seriously? Man, there really aren't any posters on here who
know anything about boxing. GGG is an excellent boxer who
happens to have vaporizing power. He cuts the ring perfectly,
stands right in front and only gets tagged by lead arm punches
and either counters or instantly resets. Macklin is a capable
boxer puncher who obviously made martin murray look like a
p4p'er tonight based on how you pretty much just gushed at
    his "boxing skills":patsch

Sergio should just do one more megafight. He deserves a fat paycheck.

It's a shame because there are a few GGG fans who actually talk sense and know a lot about the sport but it's the vocal window lickers like SugarNick and christo who give them a bad name. christo embarrasses himself on a daily basis by making up rankings and making some of the dumbest statements (i.e apparently Proksa was a better opponent than the undefeated WBO champ). SugarNick is just the average ******. :-(

It's getting a little difficult to be a fan. There's plenty of room for a positive outlook with realistic modesty. Some of the outlandish boasting is pretty embarrassing. Can see why people want the guy to fail as a result of it.

Hes been past prime and people shouldn't have needed this fight to see it, though hopefully now its known. Martinez should do one farewell fight and then retire. Hes got nothing more to prove.

Hes had the most successful middleweight title run since Bernard Hopkins..... and should ride off into the sunset the middleweight champion and let the next era duke it out.

Either that, or fight GGG as a passing of the torch type fight.

I'm feeling more somber about it than I ever thought I would. It really hit tonight.

:yep you know how I feel about GGG, but after tonight, I believe he's the best MW in the world.
Prime Sergio beats him, but he doesn't have it anymore. He seemed so out of shape today and didn't even throw that much for a typical Sergio fight. Then his punch resistance has diminished some :verysad

Sad to see, but it's boxing. I'm no longer keen on the Golovkin-Martinez fight ever happening, unless by the time Sergio is back Golovkin has been built by HBO into the semi-star they're looking for him to be and it's beneficial to Martinez to take it. Dibella really, really rubbed me the wrong way with his obnoxious dismissal/tirade last September and that is when I actually started supporting and defending Golovkin. Seeing his decline tonight though just makes me think it would be a regrettable fight because Martinez isn't going to go down like a punk, and he'd likely take far more punishment than necessary. I'd agree 2010 Maravilla handles him comfortably. Golovkin still hasn't done ****. But he's in line to, wants to, and I think he will.

Then get both of them fight each other next. We'll see GGG is the best MW as you said or not.
