I imagine this is a book with lots of pictures and not many long words.

Who has Golovkin beat who is better than Martinez opposition? Pirog is good but most people have only seen his fight against Jacobs and he isn't on Martinez's level.

Proksa is 1-1 in fights against hope who wasn't even top 20 @ the time.

I'm not so sure about Golovkin. He obviously has tremendous power for his size, but his style seems tailor-made for a good counter-puncher:

He keeps his head forward all the time, and he never moves to the side after a punch. Heck, he almost never even moves BACK after a punch. He reminds me a lot of a small Seth Mitchell.

Proska, however, looks like the real deal. He has power like Golovkin (although his is due more to great technique/ leverage) but he has vastly better defensive skills.

He's my new "favorite fighter to watch."

    --------------------

So who's this guy that beat him in March, Kerry Hope? 17-4 with only 1 KO, and he won a MD against Proska? Is he an amazing defense artist, or was it a robbery?

I have Proksa in high esteem.I also expect a close fight.

Doesnt matter, the Golovkin habilities are there. And he is world amateur champion and silver medallist. He koed much bigger guys like Bute whith helmet and only four rounds, so his punching power had been proved.

Daniel Jacobs in that time prior to the impressive Ko with Pirog, was portrayed as the next great american star, and definetly he was very good fighter with great speed and combos.Sad he didnt fight after that loss.

Beating a prospect who also hadn't fought any world class fighters shouldn't rank you ahead of someone who has beat world class fighters.

Golovkin may one day go on to be number 1 in the division but his amateur achievements don't move you up in rankings in the Pros.

One is as good as it is.Rankings of Ring Magazine etc. dont mean ****.A lot of these raking are based in popularity.Amateur achivements count a lot more, is not the same game but you can see a lot of thing s there. The amateur carreer obvious means, say the contrary is more bull**** from promoters tv channels. If Golovkin was mexican, puerto rican, american etc. he would be right now a big name and would be selling a big ppv this month.

I guarantee you that Golovkin will beat any MW if they fight, right now.But the guys need to have balls and step.

Will see...if he dont get fights for me is ducking and the the nationalistic hype buyer fan base would be guilty for that, the same with Rigondeuax, Gamboa and other obvious talents. The fan is the one who need to see the real talents and demand the real fights between the best fighters, not buy the matchmaking of the promoters based on nationalism.

The thing with counting amateurs is most of his top wins in the amateurs that went on to have pro careers were in their late teens and early 20s at the time so they have all long since improved with Pro training and more experiance.

Golovkin may beat any top middle weight in the world but he hasn't beat a top 5 fighter yet so too rank him first in the weight over someone who has beat the former number 1 at the weight is unfair. Golovkin has to prove him self to get the top spot.
