what's with all these drama? i only pointed out that what he meant by being the best boxer is not style but being the best boxer as being a pugilist. and if you are hurt by my second comment, i apologize but there is some truth to it. floyd saying he is the best is not the same as martinez is saying pac is the best boxer right now. one is just self-serving while the other one is a perception from another boxer.

Martinez could match Pacquiao in hand speed, Martinez has great footwork that would neutralize Pacquiao's own great footwork . The size difference would actually matter in this fight because Pacquiao would not have large advantages in Hand speed, power and footwork. Both guys are southpaws and Martinez had great success fighting a giant southpaw, stamina hog in Paul Williams. If this fight was at 154lbs Sergio Martinez would win by stoppage, because with his hand speed he would catch Pacquiao coming in too many times and he has enough pop to knock Pacquiao down, Pacquiao would have more success against Paul Williams in my opinion because Paul Williams leaves himself open in exchanges way too much.

bang on. I don't understand why people are ripping on Martinez's comments so quickly. One thing to remember, he's speaking in Argentinian and the article we've seen is a translation. It might well be the case that the words got mixed up in the translation. Even if they weren't, it's my own opinion that term "boxer" is reasonably synonymous with the word "fighter." I think it's pretty unreasonable for people to be so particularly anal in digesting Martinez's comments. He's entitled to an opinion and I for one am interested in hearing it.

nah, martinez is cool. would really want pac to fight him at 154 if floyd still won't man-up but i know this is too much to ask considering the size difference of around 20 pounds (at least) on fight night. and after the margarito fight, pac should never fight again above 147 where he is still out-sized by the other welters.
