Sergio Martinez aka "Maravilla the Cherrypicker"

  1. LOL @ "I think he deserves a break" and "Who's out there at Middleweight?"

****ing pathetic reasoning if there ever was any. Sergio CHOSE to represent the MIDDLEWEIGHT title here recently over the Jr. Middleweight title. Why? Because it meant so much to him and his country. lmao. O.k., sure it does Sergio because that's why you're wanting to take on a blown up welterweight.

Where have you been? Pavlik says he can't make the middleweight limit anymore so Pavlik is now going to fight at supermiddleweight. Lou already said he doesn't want Martinez to fight Williams again cause he wants to built that fight in which sucks cause i want to see that rematch. So other then that, who's out there at middleweight that could give Martinez a challenge? Sturm? He's stuck in germany.

I agree with you 100%, but to be fair a rematch with Pavlik isn't available. KP said he wouldn't do it unless they did it at 166.

Don't get me wrong this isn't the fight I want to see but it doesn't sound like there is a viable alternative from what noise has been coming out of the Boxing Scene. Lou DiBella isn't full of **** :deal

Built in excuses? You know what an excuse is right? There was no such thing posted by me. All I said is he deserves a gimme after three tough tights, and hey, a nice payday as well.

Williams is still talking about fighting at 147. He wants in with the big money guys at WW.

Pavlik had a rematch clause, he obviously isn't using it. Not to mention, says he can't malke 160.

Shane would by no means be an EASY fight. But feel free to throw a hissy fit each time a fighter takes a "gimme" or "money fight" after a series of tougher fights. try thinking things through before the knee jerk comes in. :hey

This from the man that just cried hypocrisy in comparing him to Floyd. Anyone remember Shamba Mitchell, Zab Judah or Ricky Hatton?

And yes, he would make a lot more fighting Shane than Pavlik or Williams. Seems that was a good excuse for Floyd when he chose to fight Shane instead of Williams, or Cotto, or Pac, or Berto. All are more dangerous and in their prime, but Shane brought a name and more money to the table.
So why is it ok for Floyd and not Sergio.

It's the Floyd fans that are hypocrites.

yea i heard bout him vacating his 154 title but he could still make 154 and nobody took his belt away so he could still be considered the top dog @ 154. They don't need to fight for the middleweight title. They could just fight @ 154.

For the first, and so far only time, in his career, Sergio can call some shots or choose an opponent. He can actually make a decent dime. And after three fights vs. top guys, he's being chastised for "MAYBE" looking at a fight w/ Shane. Friggin complainers...

  11. Yep. I know that Pavlik has moved up in weight but if you're going to make it a catch-weight situation, offer a rematch to Pavlik @ 167 lbs. or something. This just shows that Martinez really isn't serious about fighting @ middleweight because there are not enough so-called big money fights out there for him.

I don't mind Martinez taking that fight, he just fought Cintron, Williams and Pavlik back to back! How the hell can somedy call him a cherry picker????

  13. I didn't say a ****ing thing about Floyd you ****ing idiot. Floyd's got nothing to do with this conversation so **** off.

  14. Yes, I'm well aware that Pavlik has moved up. I also know that Pavlik would accept a rematch at a catch weight...you know, the kind of catch weight Dibella is offering Shane??? Why not offer that to Kelly Pavlik @ around 166lbs.??????? Or, here's a novel concept, why not unify the titles @ 160. Crazy idea, I know. You're an apologist, nothing more.

  15. Friggin apologists...
