I got Martinez ranked higher. He is dominating 160 as a 154 lb fighter. I would put Ward above him with a win over Dirrell or Bute....shame Dirrell ducked Ward during the Super 6!

Yes and I'm asking what makes them so much more impressive than Martinez's last few opponents? Lara is not a middleweight and is less accomplished at 154 than Dzinziruk was, especially since you already said you think beating Williams doesn't really mean anything. And Macklin had clearly looked more impressive vs Sturm than Lee; HBO picked him instead of Lee for that date for a reason.

    30 for ward

    20 for Sergio

Would most agree that they are similar in ranking and are next to each other?

I don't know about that. Williams and Pavlik are/were good fighters. However, I'm not sure how you could say Williams is more talented than Kessler. Ditto for Pavlik in regards with Froch. In fact, Froch would be a solid favorite over Pavlik if they fought now. Both fighters have similar accomplishments, and head to head most would favor Ward.

I have Martinez ranked higher at 4 although I believe Ward is the better fighter.

    Martinez at 4

    Ward at 5

Martinez has to do something significant, and soon, to maintain his position.

If Martinez keeps on his same track of recent opponents, and Ward beats Bute (or someone of that calibre), they switch.

    Just my personal opinion.

I have the same, but swap JMM with Pac (despite me scoring the third fight for JMM by 4 points).

    Donaire at 6

    Wlad at 7

The rest I'd have to think about.

How do you figure? In what ways were they the more talented fighters?

Kessler was not coming off a layoff, he just had a tuneup a few months earlier. And what does it matter where it was fought? Ward completely dominated Kessler. Martinez actually lost to Williams the first time and the fight was close the second fight before Martinez landed the eraser. I don't understand how Ward's win was nowhere near Martinez's wins over Pavlik and Williams considering Ward barely lost a round in his fight and considering Kessler is a better fighter than both Williams and Pavlik.

Absolutely he is. Dzindzurik is a straight up and down fighter. He's solid but he doesn't have a great deal of talent and his best win was Daniel Santos. He even had trouble with Joel Julio. Cintron does have talent, but he lacks mental toughness. Earlier you were acting like accomplishments were so important, yet now you question if Froch is better than the likes of Dzindzurik and Cintron even though he is way more accomplished.

    Floyd
    Jmm
    Pacman
    Sergio
    Ward

A win over the highly regarded Bute I think should put Ward at #1 or #2 depending on his performance and leaving no doubts as to who the best 168lber is.
