Martinez is looking in the wrong direction.. He should be focused on the super 6 winner.

Exactly. Martinez has earned his stripes, and has taken tough fights and won them in an impressive manner, hence him being held in the regard he is today.

These two "smaller fighters" are also not ordinary fighters nor are they extraordinarily smaller than Martinez. They would also provide money and legacy to Martinez, who begun late. Many forget that he was a one time cyclist, and before that... soccer player, if I recall correctly?

To be honest, there's no real attractive legacy builders in his current weight range. He either needs to keep moving up at the quick pace he has been, face the elite smaller crop, or face mediocre competition at 160.

Pirog? The "come back" version of Jermaine Taylor? Gimme a break.

That said, if he is willing to take an elite 168 pounder-- and I wouldn't hold him to it or begrudge him if he didn't-- that's his prerogative. Then again, some of the haters will say that the post-Super 6 168 elite were "ruined" by a combination of having their 0s taken away, the consistent high level of competition, or something else. :tired:tired

 

Sergio might as well keep beating people at 160 since he said he is to small for 168. Floyd said he was interested in fighting Martinez but we know that fight ain't happening. Manny is not fighting him period.

 

No way, neither one of them wants to get in there with him.

 

Leiumuex, Sturm, or Pirog? Yeah, the division sucks.. but 168 is loaded.
