Alot of fighter say they want to knock their opponent out, but dont really try or dont go about it the right way. Martinez went into the ring looking to sit down on his punches, and get Williams out of there. What a fighter.

I dont think there is an argument at not having Martinez as the 3rd best fighter in the world. Its almost a shame he's 35, and with his style who knows how long he will remain at what he claims is his peak mentally and physically.

beats a good champ in Pavlik

    rematches and KO's p4p Williams

a few more defenses and he can be a memorable champ

    Timing and accuracy is everything!

  5. I've said it from the beginning - Sergio kills Pac and Floyd. But it's a fight Pac has no business taking anyway... and we know Floyd's not gonna step up.

    :deal

I dont know how big Martinez can get from now on. Like I said, its too bad this kid wasnt found earlier in his career and molded into the fighter he is today. We could have had another Oscar De La Hoya, has the look just needs to learn some English.

Martinez has to be one of the smarter fighters out there right now. I've been impressed with his ring IQ ever since I saw the Cintron fight, especially for someone who started boxing so late.

yer true, he definately wasn't hoping around on the outside with quicky snappy combos here and there like in the pavlik fight,

he was waiting for williams to come in and beat him to the punch

I've watched all his interviews leading up to the fight. In every single interview he would say he's going to knock him out and he was 100% confident. He's boxings new star and boxing should promote him like it accordingly.

This is the reason he would be hell for both Floyd and Pacquiao. I couldn't care less how good a guy is physically or really how big he is, except in a case where he also possesses real ring intelligence. Martinez isn't the sort of guy you're going to really draw into traps and exploit the hell out of him.

The fact that Martinez does have intelligence combined with great abilities would make him the toughest fight in the world for both Floyd and Pacquiao aside from each other around their weight.

the weight of the fight is going to be very important. They will try to get him to 150 for example.
