Martinez rocks Pac on a number of occasions and wins a close decision.

FYI, Pacquiao came in unofficially at 148 on fight night against Margarito.

This wouldn't be a good fight for Pac based on styles and size, but I'd love to see it. Now this would be a serious challenge for Pac, and is he up to it? Probably not. If Pac beats Martinez, that would really be a measure of greatness. If Pac comes in at 147-148 and Martinez at 156, then on fight night Pac is 149-150 and Martinez 165-166 it would be the same size advantage as Pac was facing for Margarito, so he's already been there. Martinez's skills and speed though, make that size disadvantage very dangerous.

Good defense? Did Margarito, who has as much diversity in punches and hand speed as I do, not hit Pac more than he's ever been hit in a fight? I guess I haven't seen this "damn good defense", but it really doesn't matter because the bottom line is Sergio would counter him, put together combinations, and would impose his will on the smaller guy.

Pac gets KO'd at 154 lbs... too big and too strong for him to handle :-(

Pac just might die in the ring......This game is about skillz and Maravilla is king of boxing...

Right now Chris John, Floyd Mayweather Jr., Andre Dirrell, and Sergio Martinez are all wizards of the science of boxing that won't be beaten for the forseeable future. This should be universally understood by purists of the sport.

I think Martinez is too much for him. The guy has serious skills.

at 154, this is how i see it.

    floyd > martinez
    martinez > pacman
pacman > every other 154 fighter.

    at 147 i see it

    floyd > pacman
pacman > every other 147 fighter.

so to sum up, i think martinez would take pacs title off him.

Juanma might murder Chris John at this point.

Andre Dirrell isn't going to fight.

    FMJ isn't going to fight.

    Martinez can get hit cleanly.

    Nobody is perfect.

I think because of the movement he has, people tend to think Martinez is more elusive than he actually is. He was hit plenty of times against the very limited Cintron. Pavlik landed over 30% of all shots, including nearly 50% of his power punches, which consist of...a right hand. Paul Williams, who isn't an accurate puncher, landed 300 shots on him, so I think people should understand that, even though he's a slick mover, Martinez can be hit.

And these guys who have hit him clean aren't exactly Arguello-esque punchers. Cintron has wide shots and isn't a precision puncher at all. Pavlik is fairly accurate but only has two punches in his entire arsenal, including the right hand, which isn't hard to spot. Williams throws incredibly wide punches and doesn't have that much speed or snap to his shots.

So if these guys are all hitting Martinez and getting good success, why wouldn't Pacquiao? I know all three are bigger than Pacquiao, but Martinez has good foot movement and doesn't get hit clean on the outside, which means that all these numbers of people hitting him, are on the inside. Even though Pacquiao is a lot short, Martinez's defence on the inside really isn't that good because he squares himself up and will trade.

So when they do trade, what would happen? I'm not sure why so many people are voting for a Martinez stoppage, other than the knee jerk reaction to last nights fight. Pacquiao has fought bigger punchers in Margarito and Cotto, took their shots, and not flinched. There is no indication that Martinez would hut Pacquiao, let alone stop him. On the inside and middle ranges, Pacquiao should be favoured. He's harder to hit, has a better punch variety and can land combinations. Martinez is limited to a great left hand and not much else.

Pacquiao wins this fight, I'm confident about that.

agree, and this is the reason team pac would never take the fight
