Sergio Martinez: 'I challenge Pacquiao for his 154lbs title' - who wins?

So it's ok to fight Margarito because Margarito is slow as ****, but it's not ok to fight Martinez because he has good footwork and handspeed?

 

:think Someone watching the Martinez-Williams rematch commented how he thought Sergio's downfall vs. Pacman would be Sergio's low guard. I think Sergio fights very similar to RJ and if not for their footwork they would be sitting ducks. I think Sergio's athleticism would carry him to a decision over both Pacman and Floyd. Martinez-Pacquiao would be a megafight similar to Hagler-Duran and probably with similar results. I think Martinez-Mayweather might be alittle closer since Floyd won't be looking for a ko. Sergio doesn't have much time either and he does depend fully on his reflexes just like RJ did.

 

Margarito couldn't cut the ring either, Martinez would have an easier time.

 

Martinez was enjoying inside work against Pwilliams. Looks like he's actually pretty skilled there.

 

There's a reason why Martinez would enjoy inside fighting with Martinez. PWill has very long arms and he's very weak in fighting up close.

That advantage disappears if he fights Pac.

 

if he can fight Margarito he can fight Sergio...especially since you have a 154 title...they should allow SM to weigh in at 154 and Pac weigh in at whatever he wants they will rehydrate and the weights will be similar to Margo/Pac......there shouldnt be a catchweight

Well its defiantly better then the mosley fight. However I do belive martinez is way to big. But if this fight happend it would be a megafight the boxing scene havent seen in years..

Could happen, but, I don't know. Manny recently said he ain't gonna fight over 150. He's got to stop fighting the Margarito's and Clottey's of the world. And start fighting some real competition. Sergio is a start.

i wouldnt mind seeing this but i dont think sergi has showed enough wear and tear or is slow enough for the management to make the fight.

if it happens my verdict is pac loses by ko he would hit manny to often.
