None of that other **** makes any sense. Additional drug testing does given the fact that the commissions and sanctioning bodies don't mandate anything close to a legit testing protocol, and especially in this case where there's a proven drugs cheat involved.

no. all i was saying is im sick of the testing issue. i dont think its a deal breaker if chavez doesnt want to take it. he was stating that chavez simply wasnt interested in taking it correct?
but i guess i did come accross that way, no way in ell do i think that :)

Did any of his previous opponents fail a drug test?

Who knows but Chavez Jr should be jumping at the chance to take it.

My thoughts exactly. Especially that bit in highlighted in orange. As wrong as it is, Chavez has the power to refuse, and Martinez – being the man who's more desperate for the fight – should just accept the normal procedures. I mean, if Chavez really is a PED user (which I heavily doubt), then I hope he’s kept his receipts, because those special juices don’t appear to be doing much for his game.

And if it’s the cutting of weight that Martinez is rightfully concerned about, then how about proposing some other form of tests that will specifically look out for what he's used before? They may not need to be complete, stringent blood tests to detect that weight-cutting ****. I mean, when Chavez was caught previously with them, wasn’t it under normal tests? I don’t know. Maybe there’s a chance he’s found some undetectable drugs to use. But that’s just speculation.

I just really want to see this fight. If everything else is agreed upon – which is a major ****ing achievement – it’s just a shame that it’s then going to be held up by OSTD (something I honestly don’t even think are THAT necessary in the case of Chavez Jr. Martinez will still whoop him in any case). The other roadblocks that Chavez had in the way, have finally been removed. No need to put more in the way.

chavez tested positive for diuretics not steroids

and before some smart ass starts diuretics aren't used as masking agents anymore, they haven't been since the 80's.

i dont think so but i do think demanding a drug test shows a little bit of doubt in your mind about your opponent and if you cant beat him like in the case of Pascal

I also think its head games as much as anything

that said i feel any fighter who denies a test has something to hide

i am shocked that he is asking for testing in this fight however, Chavez has been avoiding this fight has never seemed too interested you would figure Martinez would be very confident in winning already

i suppose if Chavez does still use diuretics testing would force him to lose weight a different way so this is all very strategic

See your quote? Well it implies I mentioned Sergio caring about Chavez's belt....I don't understand why you mentioned it as it didn't relate to my comments which you quoted?

    So I am confused? :huh

P.S It's Emeritus not Einstein :good They both begin with "E" but thats as close as it gets ;)

it makes sense. because its a ****ing request the guy is making and they really have zero right to request that as a stipulation. its gonna come down to a champion one day having a mandatory contender who asks the champion to take this gay EXTRA NON SANCTIONED requested test and the champ tells him to **** off with that because he already takes testing like he has his whole career. what happens then?
    1) champion gets stripped for not agreeing to a rule thats no existant? NO.....
    2) champion FORCED by someone to take it? NO...
    3) challenger goes somewhere else because they dont bow down :good
