Sergio is 37, he can't afford to wait around. Can't blame him for trying to make money now. One bad loss for so-so pay to someone like Pirog and his gravey train might be forever over.
That is what he was hoping for, for the winner between Chavez Jr/Zbik but by the looks of it Arum already has Chavez Jr. lined up with Cotto next. So Martinez possibility of landing a good payday are getting very slim. Sturm won't fight in the US so Martinez won't be paid as much if he fights in Germany and not to mention that no one gurantees Strum wants the fight. A fight with Pirog sounds good for us the boxing fans but not too good for Sergio since Pirog won't land him a big payday and might "possibly" end his momentum.
This cant be true because Sergio cant make 154 according to *******s. :rofl:rofl:rofl Suckas hes coming for Manny and Floyd.
no1 at 160? ward said after the tournament he'd b willing to go down to 160 and fight serg but of course the middleweight champ serg only wants to call out welters
Please, please show me that quote. There is no way Ward goes to 160. He said on his twitter after the Dzinziruk fight that he'd love to take him on, but that fight definitely would not take place anywhere near the middleweight limit.
it was on yahoo, soon after serg won his last fight and they were talking about possible possibilities ward specifically said i'd b willing to go down to 160, it'd b hard, but i'd be willing to if serg wanted to look it up if u have time
folks would still say cotto is drained or manny softened him up even more ONLY FIGHT IS MANNY VS LIL FLOYD manny shouldn't fight anymore unless its with lil floyd everyone else, there'll always be an excuse
This is the closest I have found: http://espn.go.com/sportsnation/chat/_/id/37458 I'd believe when I see it. Martinez probably even isn't the "right guy" since he brings no money (and probably does not fit the description for a HUGE fight), and I very much doubt that Ward could make that weight anyway. In any case, Ward is going to have to fight Abraham, Forch/Johnson, and Kessler-Bute over the next year and a half. What do you think Martinez should do in the meantime? Are you still hoping to see him fight JOSH CLOTTEY?
