PF always seems to have solid information so this comes as a bit of a surprise. Miguel Diaz has been more than a cutman in the past. He offers some solid pointers between rounds. He is a good 'outside' look for the team. Boo once advocated getting him more involved in training. I've noticed him as a trainer in several fights over the past year. At first I thought maybe he wasn't doing corner work anymore.

Diaz is definetly one of those cutmen that are more than just cutmen. Diaz is a good asset in anybody's corner

"For most of Kelly’s career, Miguel Diaz was in his corner. But according to a source in the Pavlik camp, Diaz demanded excessive fees for fights after Pavlik-Hopkins. That and a reported personality conflict led to Miguel being let go"

Pavlik needs to forget about Martinez and the middle weight titles. His place is no longer at 160 and should focus on fighting a stationary opponent at 68; perhaps Bika or Brinkly and then eventually Froch after the tourney.
