    Sergio Martinez interested in facing Mayweather in November

    By Chris Williams: Former two division world champion Sergio Martinez says he’s willing to fight Floyd MayweatherJr at 150 pound catchweight. However, Mayweather will have to wait until November before Martinez can fight him because he says he won’t be available until then, according to an interview at boxinginsider.com.
    Mayweather recently told Yahoo Sports writer Kevin Iole that he’d be willing to fight Sergio Martinez on May 5th at the MGM Grand if Martinez is willing to get down to 150 to fight him at a catchweight. Martinez told ******insider.com “I said 150 and I will keep my promise…I don’t have problems in fighting at Jr. Middleweight. Talk is cheap. Fight or shut up. November would be a good month. I would have enough time to reach 150 and you could be recovered from your holidays.”
    Mayweather is still trying to make a deal with WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao but is having problems getting him to accept agreeing to a smaller cut of the revenue. Martinez might be missing the boat by not agreeing to fight Mayweather on May 5th because the offer likely won’t be there in November. Martinez has plenty of time to destroy an overmatched Macklin on March 17th and then be ready for a fight against Mayweather less than 2 months later on May 5th.
    It’s doable as long as Martinez doesn’t get cut up in the Macklin fight. He’ll already be in good shape at that point and will only need to focus on taking off a little weight to make the 150lb catchweight for the fight. Other than Mayweather, Martinez has no real possibilities of any big money fights. Manny Pacquiao won’t fight him, and he’s no luck in getting Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. or Felix Sturm to fight him either. There is a possibility in the future of fighting WBA/WBC super middleweight champion Andre Ward but that fight doesn’t really count for a huge money fight and Ward would likely have too much skills and speed for Martinez to cope with.

    why do people keep talking about a floyd fight in november? he would only have 2 mnths to prepare and it aint enough time to promote a fight
