Sergio Martinez is a cancer in the MW division

Im a huge GGG fan and not a SirGayo fan.....MOF.......I coined the name SirGayo since Im ashamed of some of my male co-posters who constantly refer to him as S3XIO or Sir S3XY, or S3XY Serge, etc etc etc.

BUT......Sergio Martinez fought the best available competition when it it made business sense. Much like GGG, Sergio hasnt exactly had the division lining up to take a crack.

He's 38 y/o, been in too many wars for his age/style, and he deserves nothing less than getting a couple megapaydays and a retirement party.

We all know GGG is the Champion at MW......Sergio and GGG don't need to settle that in the ring. I think Sergio is MAN enough to admit that at this point, he aint beating GGG, and he needs a few more paydays to fade of into the sunset.:think

 

Sergio is the kind of fighter you need in a division.. that kind of RJJ athletic type with some intangibles. As a fan I like to see different styles. He is not an ATG that is for damn sure, but he has fought ok comp.

Calling him a cancer though? It is BS that he is fighting Cotto... but it was Cotto that approached him.

 

Don't blame him particularly for taking the money fight with Cotto I would do the same thing. If he doesn't retire though he cannot refuse to fight golovkin as that is the best fight at middleweight by miles.

 

The MW division is cancer and Sergio's the cure. :deal

He had no choice in the matter at all when it came to the Wiliams rematch and Dzinurik fights, being told take these fights or you're not on our network, which is exactly why your efforts to paint him as a cherrypicker are absurd.

Quillin was offered the Barker date because he actually lives in the country where the fight would take place. Golovkin couldn't even fight in the US at all at that time.

if you really think hes a paper champ then I don't think you realize the difference between a real world champion and a paper one

Golovkin is the best middleweight in the world today. Geale refused to fight him, Quillin refused to fight him, Murray refuses to fight him, Martinez avoided and to fight Cotto................Golovkin is the very best.............

 

Golovkin is the middleweight champ. Sergio would blatantly have no chance if they were to fight
