Everyone thinks he's the second coming of Sugar Ray Robinson but... who has he beaten?

Look at his ultra-padded resume, and the only good wins are Kelly Pavlik and Paul Williams.

Pavlik had a huge cut near his eye that gave him problems. He floored Martinez anyway but lost a close decision.

Williams was an one-trick pony, and Martinez had a stylistic advantage over him.

So besides those 2 wins, what has Martinez done? And why is he fighting bums again?

it couldnt of been Sergio's fists tagging that ugly face of Pavlik, now could it? "Duhh, look at me, my name is Beatle, and im a complete dumbass attention *****!"

I gave him credit for Pavlik and Williams. Can you name another good win on Sergio's resume? You forgot to do that when you were calling me names.

you're exactly right though. How can someone use the cut as an excuse when it was caused by Martinez's punches?

It's the Vitali defence. If his opponent didn't catch him with such crisp shots, he would have won. Yada yada yada.

So far no one has named ONE good opponent on Sergio's resume, besides Pavlik and Williams.

    Case closed.

The dude started his career at 20 something and beating veteran and experience boxers. After the Margarito loss he constantly put on more and more muscle and gained power. He has a "padded" record because no one would fight him and no promotional company wanted him. He said that at times the most he made was 1000 euros.
Now he beat Cintron who at that time was a good fighter (B level).Had a extremely close fight with Williams(Sergio was the underdog) which i had a point win for Martinez. In his next fight he took on Pavlik who was the middleweight champ. Martinez was the underdog and yet he beat 180 pound Pavlik convincingly. I had it 9-3.
HBO refused to show his mandatory defense against Zbik so he went with the more dangerous Dzinziruk. Knocked that boy down 5 times. Never been down in amateur and professional ranks.
His next fight...Yes, its nothing special BUT its better then fighting a old guy who has looked **** in his last fights and forching guys to move up multiple weight classes.

Dzindziruk, Cintron, he also fought Margarito when he was absolutely green... Its hard not to like a man who got where he is now with his will and talent. He did not have big promoter and did not have famous trainer and does not live in rich country with everything handed to him... Also he started boxing very late. Most important he shows people that anything is possible! Why not to like him? Besides if you don't see that he is actually really good - you are blind...

you've been on the esb forums for a while so you shuold already know that many, many posters here will jump on a bandwagon simply to belong. if you ask a good number of the people here to think for themselves or outside the box they will drown. someone recently posted that ortiz(extremely live +500 dog) has a good chance of beating pbf and he was berated here just as yourself.

sm has to this point beat a drunk, post b-hop pavlik(the fight was even up to the cut in the ninth round) and pw. i had sm(+200) in the first fight against pw and believe that pw won the fight in the championship rounds.

although aa proclaims that he is not moving back down to 160(ego) i believe that a pre super six aa walks down sm and subsequently ko's him.

160 is the worst division in boxing, thats why aa left.
