Cintron should of been counted out!!! You know that draw was a bunch of crap Cintron was hit flush with a legit punch and not a headbutt and was on the canvas for more than 10 sec but the incompitent ref played into his complaining.

These prospects you mentioned are fundamentaly sound fighters, I agree. But they lack experience at the elite level and have never faced Martinez style or anything like it. Right now they would be overwhelmed in the ring with Sergio but give it sometime and one of them just might take him out.

Sergio was given a well deserved oppertunity and he demonstrated the ability to make the best of it.

That's why I said Cintron came back from a 'Knock Out' to earn a draw. If you hurt someone so bad that you KO them, they shouldn't be coming back to win rounds against you...

And you're argument against those 'prospects' not having faced someone like Martinez holds against Martinez as well. He hasn't fought someone who's that big and talented. Pavlik and Williams showed no respect to Martinez and came into those fights thinking about other things. A Sturm or Macklin would be very focused and give Martinez hell.

Damn, I can't believe some of these posts, "Pavlik and Williams showed no respect to Martinez and came into those fights thinking about other things". LMFAO

Now that's a reach. I think his style is tailor made for money. Mayweather would definitely TKO this guy in late rounds. And it's a fight that Money says he wants.

Cintron didn't earn the draw, it was a gift. But I do understand what your sayin.

But I'm sorry, I do disagree with what you say about Martinez not fighting someone that big and talented. Cintron, even though he's a cry baby, he is a big powerful fighter with skills just like Williams is. I don't understand how you can say that Pavlik and Williams were thinking about other things in those fights. That's a cop out brother, Williams was definatly focused on beating Martinez in the rematch.

One of the funniest things I've ever heard is speculation on how Mayweather would do against Martinez. As if Floyd would ever consider fighting anyone with a chance.
Floyd won't even fight Paq, what makes anyone think he'll take on a middleweight?

Obviously this guy is a moron but he does have a couple of decent points. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE Martinez, and I think it's so great that he's now getting the credit that he deserves after years and years of anonymity.

However, he did lose (either way it was very close) to the defensively flawed Paul Williams a year ago. I guess my point is, that is Pac and PBF retired, Martinez would probably be the worst P4P #1 in history in my opinion. He's very good, but I don't think he's great.

Having said that he's still #3/#4 p4p and this author is a dick.

Williams was really reluctant to sign the rematch with Martinez, he dragged his feet for months. HBO pretty much forced it thru. Then through out training camp he's giving interviews every week about how he's willing to drop down to 147 to fight Manny or Floyd. He insisted on the lower weight clause to show his intention of going to 147. Where Martinez was dropping down from the 170's, Williams was already in the 150's. Williams and his trainer talked about Martinez with no difference as Quintanna in that rematch - 'get this out of the way mentality'.

Pavlik it was reported spent a couple weeks in alcohol rehab clinic early in his training camp, then had to spend the last few weeks focusing on losing weight. Those are excuses, but if they're legit, they definitely give an edge to Martinez to shine.

Sergio is a great fighter, I just think there's more than a few guys at 160 who beat him. I hope we see him in with a ranked middle this March and not Dzinzurik.

:rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl Manny Pac, and Floyd would knock Martinez out? Look who they are fighting. Pac is fighting old Mosley, and Mayweather well, he is fighting the legal system at the moment. Neither one is challenging Martinez, and they both have the chance to enhance their careers in doing so.

Fact is, Pac is 154 lb. champ and Martinez clearly said he would fight Pac @ 154. Pac is fighting Mosley who should not even be cracking your top 50 P4P based on the way you rate boxers. Mayweather, who has fought @ 154 has not challenged him either. Pac and Mayweather will both come up with the same excuse that Martinez does not bring enough money to the table and avoid Martinez.

All of a sudden Martinez needs to move up to 168? This statement just points out how good he really is. :good

I don't see Pacquiao losing to Martinez right now.

Maybe in a few years when Pacquiao is shot, yes, but not now, and same goes for Mayweather.

Martinez has heart, speed and power, but he lacks strategy, one thing both Pacquiao and Mayweather do VERY well. They spot their fighters weaknesses and utilize them to their advantage effectively without giving away their game plan.

Martinez is an amazing fighter, but he is a tad one dimensional. You can't give a man #1 spot on the P4P list just because Williams couldn't keep his gloves up.
