the Paul Williams that Martinez brutally KOd was another name that Mayweather supposedly ducked, so don't underrate that
the JCC the Martinez schooled was an undefeated name who many believed was too big in size for Martinez to handle, also making Martinez a two-time middleweight champ, which isn't bad for a natural 154-pounder, so don't underrate that.
i don't think anyone is calling Martinez a HOFer so i don't know why you'd call him overrated. but underrating him is just disrespectful

I agree PWill was his best win, in fact only p4p win. But why would you say that? The only time PWill fought a champ at MW he requested a CW, vs Martinez 2, and lost.

 

But they're not. It's like saying " Man, if Pavlik could make 154 he'd kill those guys". Weight classes exist for a reason.

 

Since his coming out party v bunzema (however it's spelled I can't remember) he's fought nothing but ranked opponents.

He waited for Forrest before tragedy struck. He outclassed cintron before losing a debatable fight to Williams.

He was cherry picked by pavlick and really pushed his **** in. He righted the wrong against Williams. Destroyed unbeaten dzindzuruk. Battered ranked prime mw contenders in Macklin, barker, Chavez and soon to be Murray.

I think now he is overrated. He is looking a little washed up and worn out. But in his prime he was not overrated.
