I need a source before I come close to believing that. They couldn't even sell tickets for the Barker fight, much less the Dzin fight.

Ah, thanks. Doesn't prove your point though, as HBO regularly has over 1 million viewing their fight programs. More people watched Garcia vs. Morales than any one of those three fights. So you turning around and saying that his exposure got him that Chavez fight still doesn't convince me at all.

My point is, Gamboa had almost 1 million people watching him, and he's still unknown.

I don't think I've ever flatly asserted that fighting on HBO guaranteed him the Chavez fight, but I have questioned which alternative routes made sense from a promoting perspective or would have made that fight more likely to take place any earlier. I've likewise challenged the idea that trash talk appearing on websites played a bigger causal role in that fight taking place than actually fighting in the US on HBO.

What I'm saying is, those publications, blogs, online articles are where you got the most information on his personal feelings about Chavez Jr. His on screen appearances on HBO had mostly nothing to do with it. If anything, more attention was given to his "It gets better" program.

Longer reach, can jab your face off, decent power, good handspeed, great footwork. Mayflower don't want it.

I think it's innaccurate to say Sergio got the Chavez fight mainly because of his mouth. He got that fight on merit. He proved without doubt that he was the best middleweight, and because of this newly acquired status and the increasing popularity of his name, Chavez wasn't really in a position to continue ignoring him.

As for: "Mayweather Hand Picks His Rivals". Well, that's a given. He's been doing that since his arrival on the welterweight scene.

Lol at Sergio 'got' the Chavez fight, let's get it right, Chavez got the Sergio fight.

Sergio wasn't an undeserving fighter talking his way into a payday, he was the lineal MW champ, Chavez was the paper belt holder with the backing of Jose Sulaiman

If Martinez wants the fight then move down to 154 and do something there first.

It's true, but damn Sergio stop calling out these smaller fighters. Reminds me of Hopkins.

That's really his best bet. Staying up and busting people at 160, gives the 154 guys an excuse to ignore him. If he really was the natural 154 like everyone claims he is, then he would move down there considering that's where all of his desired opponents are - Cotto, Kirkland, Alvarez and even Mayweather.
