Obviously at this point in his career Sergio wants to secure his future financially. He's had a tough road getting to the spot he has now and he wants the big fights, the big names, the big money. He's willing to go down to 154, where Floyd and Cotto both fought last. Golovkin hasn't really beaten anyone yet anyway.

 

So he's handpicking his rivals?

 

I would say it's a bit more complicated then that. He's not targetting fighters that are just easy money. Floyd is P4P number 1 and would be the best possibe name on his resume. And of course, he will bring a career high pay day.

You missed the part where Ward said he won't fight at a catchweight, thus killing your poor attempt at a parallel.

Sergio starts calling Ward out at 160 after Andre said he wouldn't fight at a catchweight. It's cool though, Sergio wants a paycheck, not an ass whupping. I don't blame him!!!!

 

Martinez has said he'd be open to doing 164. Ward isn't; he's not willing to be as accommodating for potential opponents as Dawson was forced to be against him.

Somebody should ask Sergio when he's gonna fight Pirog, Golovkin and Geale and stop chasing smaller guys like Pac and Floyd and inexperienced guys like Chavez Jr for a fat paycheck

 

So this where ex-*******s are! Hoping on the maravilla band wagon! Serg is prolly my second favorite fighter. Sergio is the doin the same thing as floyd. Hes trying to make the most money that he can, which is what a prize fighter SHOULD do. Hes just not a big enough draw. Floyd wil fight canelo Pacman and cotto again before he fights sergio. As much I like sergio tho, Floyd would whoop his ass too. I hope the fight happens cuz if floyd beats maravilla his top 10 top 5 all time would be solidified
