Serg hasnt fought anybody close to floyds level! but floyd has a good MW with movement and a good power in both hands before. Not that sergio wouldnt be a problem but sergio wouldnt be able to hit floyd enough to beat him.

Really so he fought Pirog, GGG, N'Jikam, and Sturm?

Yes, I would agree. Fans like you and some of the dense posters in this thread firmly have your mouths attached to Sergio's scrotum. This prevents oxygen from reaching the brain and making the clear indication that Sergio is handpicking welterweights because he wants money. He also was offered a career high payday by Pirog and turned it down because he would have had to go to Russia. Not very warrior like.

Williams was rated higher than all four when Martinez fought him. Macklin was rated above all but Sturm and the unlisted Geale when Martinez fought him. Chavez was rated higher than all but Sturm and the unlisted Geale when Martinez fought him.

The fact that you would list that disgrace N'Jikam as someone Martinez somehow has unfinished business or needs to beat reveals your ignorance. The same applies to Sturm, who's never seen a lineal champion he's been the least bit interested in fighting.

 So that's cleaning out a division, two guys one of who's best win was Andy ****ing Lee and the other's was Winky Wright coming off a two year layoff. But don't fight Pirog, Sturm, GGG, N'Jikam or Geale. You know the other belt holders/fmr. beltholders in the division.

Glad to hear you don't care for Chavez and Williams' levels of competition in the division. Could you please remind what the best wins were for the 4 guys you listed which are so much more impressive than those two?

mind telling me what separated Williams and Chavez from them? Kind of hard to claim to clear out the division when you fight two of the seven or eight top fighters in the division.

Chavez has actually fought more top 20 guys in the division than maybe anyone save Martinez. Williams beat Wright more decisively than anyone ever has, had a win over Martinez at the weight prior to Martinez becoming lineal champion, and had Pavlik running from him.

And if the emphasis is on needing to fight beltholders, I don't particularly see why Golovkin is listed since he doesn't have a belt of any value at the moment. I am likewise still inclined to wonder why Pirog and N'Jikam are included as well since they have merely won (or in N'Jikam's case, was handed) a vacant belt stripped of Martinez for no reason whatsoever without beating anyone of note. That leaves Geale and Sturm, both of whom turned down Martinez before he proceeded to fight other guys in the division.

Dawson wanted a paycheck. He wasn't forced to come down to 168. Dawson said on live TV he could make 168 and was willing to fight there. Dawson weakened himself in order to chase a payday and it backfired. Ward said he couldn't fight below 168, so of course here come offers from Martinez of 160 or 164. I'm not mad at Sergio for not wanting a Ward fight. Like I said, I don't blame him. All the nonsense about Sergio wanting to fight the best and secure his legacy is bull**** IMO. Martinez wants to cash out period, end of story!!

Of course Floyd hand picks his opponents. Boxing is a business. It's obviously working considering he's the highest paid athlete.

When it doesn't work anymore, you might see him taking more risks, but why take an unnecessary risk that could potentially hurt your earning potential when you can be risk averse and still earn plenty of money?

All the best guys hand pick there opponents. Floyd use to get lots of abuse for this but once manny started doing it openly everyone backed off floyd.

Martinez does some hand picking himself.
