    Chavez - middleweight
    Canelo - junior middleweight
    Martinez - middleweight
    Pacquiao - welterweight

Mayweather - welterweight w/ 2 fights of experience at junior middleweight

Got any other welterweight threats other than Pacquiao? The last non-Pacquiao welterweight threat was Victor Ortiz off the Berto win, and Mayweather fought and beat him right then.

None at Welterweight, I wouldn't say Ortiz was a threat to be honest. Mosley was though.

I Agree but if Martinez is willing to go down to 154, Mayweather should fight him. He has already fought twice in that weight and got a belt also.

That's where the money is at. If Ward was in Floyd's position in terms of popularity and PPV power, he'd be angling just as hard for that fight even though it'd be disastrous. But Ward is a nobody who won't leave his hometown . Pure money motivation.. Other than the 185 lb Chavez, the other names happen to be 154 lbers (Floyd, Canelo, Cotto, et al). There are some good fights amongst the top five at middleweight to take place from now to spring 2013 to determine who gets a shot at the Crown. He'll fight guys his own size and bigger when none of the above come to fruition.

Why do you keep saying this dumb ****? If Sergio can make 154, why's he trying to fight Cotto(e) @ a catchweight?

Perhaps trying to gauge his interest with a starting point that would lighten the load. I don't think Cotto takes him up, even at 154. Or Canelo. Or Floyd.

You completely misunderstood me. Sergio won't fight Cotto at the jmw limit of 154, as he's suggested he would like a catchweight. Yet you keep saying Martinez can make 154 easily. I see no evidence of that. As a matter of fact, with this catchweight talk against Cotto(e), it proves the opposite.

Has it occured to you, he might want to defend his belt against Cott at anything over 154? And with Floyd, he'd go down to his division? Do you think things through, or just stick with the typical knee jerk reactionary type ppsts....

What's the point of "gauging interest" at this juncture? If he knows he wants these big fights in and around 154, then make the weight. Show you're just not talking ****. There are plenty of names to make it worth while.

My thing is, before he said this nonsense about Cotto, I actually believed he could make the weight (albeit slightly drained), but now, I don't think he can.

"Sexy" already went up in weight and cleaned house! "Sexy" is a career 154 pound fighter.. Floyd just won a strap from Cotto @ 154. "Sexy" has already said he would go back down to 154 to fight Floyd.. Whats the problem? You Mad? :hat

Doesn't matter. Sergio still thinks Floyd is one of the best in the game. He just wants a chance to become P4P king which I can understand. Sergio thinks Pac is a complete fraud which makes me laugh, probably because there is some truth to it.
