Of course it affects his legacy. He got beat up, humiliated and embarrassed by a shot WW. I'd say that loss without avenging it greatly affects his legacy.

I never gave Cotto 100% credit for beating Martinez, but after watching that video I give him more credit. Maybe what Martinez said was true. He said he got caught with a left to the temple that be never fully recovered from.

One thing that never sat right with me is all the comments about Martinez losing because he had no legs because I never saw with say put in the pocket. He was always moving. He used the whole ring. He was never trapped on the ropes. He moved very well.

If we look at how how Lara did against Delvin and then look at how Cotto did against Delvin, maybe Roach has really done something great with Cotto.

I guess we will never know.

Martinez a great fighter and I always enjoyed him.

    Farewell Champ.

We should all salute a great champion and a lovely human being. Fabulous boxer. Will be sadly missed from the ring, but it's time for the next chapter in his life. Sergio I salute you.

Great champion, very exciting fighter. Crazy that he only started boxing at 20 y/o and to see what he went on to achieve being such a late starter.

Good post. I think that his movement in that was a bit of an illusion. He was never really on his toes or ball of his feet if you look carefully. Having had knee injuries myself I can tell you that a flat foot is much more comfortable to land on that your toes/***** of feet.

But for Sergio, that flat footed movement
Wasn't enough to evade Cotto's offense

    Very good point.

Has Sergio shown movement before that isn't flat footed?
