Sounds like he considers Pirog as a great risk/small reward.

In fairness, he is at this point. I'd love to see it but I can understand Martinez not being interested. Hopefully Pirog gets on HBO again, it would make a Martinez/Pirog fight much more marketable.

My only condition to that fight is if the two girls in your avatar are the ring girls on the night.

The bad news for Sergio is that, while 160 is ridiculously deep in young talent, none of them will be a viable opponent for the next couple of years. Sturm, Pirog et al don't bring the kinds of rewards that Martinez is looking for at this point of his career.

The best and biggest fights are all out-with his weigh class - Mayweather, Pacquiao, Bute and Cotto.

I'm always startled by Seckbach's level of ******ation when I listens to him. So one controversial fight (which Bute clearly one) means it's impossible to get a decision in Canada even if you knock out your opponent!:patsch

Martinez only looking for money fights = understandable

But Pac only looking for money fights = ducking Marquez?

    :patsch:patsch:patsch

 Martinez is not looking for money fights. Pirog would bring in lots but beating him wont get him further in getting to the p4p #1 position wich he so much desires. On Pacquiao fighting for money it´s the Margarito fight that pissed everyone off. There was so much wrong with that fight but thats that. If he would have fought Mosley instead of Margarito, it wouldn't have been so bad.

He's not going to come out and say it but he is looking for big money fights.

Especially as Martinez has already been in a fight where he knocked out his opponent and didn't get the decision. It was in the USA. :yep

he's right, Pirog would be a step back for Martinez in terms of quality of opponent, while Bute would be a major step forward.

He doesn't say he's looking for just MONEY FIGHTS

He says he wants fight that will enhance his legacy.

Pacquiao fighting Mosley does nothing, absolutely nothing, for his legacy.

The Margo fight was excusable, barely, because of the massive 17lb size difference.
