That's a tired old song at this point, no?

If you still can't see what Golovkin brings into the ring, perhaps you should join a knitting forum.
(Divac, you generally know your stuff, so I'm a bit surprised by this.)

A prime Sergio would likely be the betting favorite against GGG, but now? C'mon, it's silly to think he'd have a chance.
It sure would be a battle, though, while it lasted. For a few rounds, we'd really see what both men are made of.

I wonder how big a PPV event this would be? I'm guessing HUGE, considering how much HBO has been hyping Golovkin.

Martinez is not and never was anything that would give GGG any difficulty. If they fight, which I doubt. GGG knocks him out inside 3 rounds.

Me either. If Paul Williams can score a knockdown against Sergio with a grazing punch. A grazing punch from Golovkin may take his face off. If he gets hit solid......call the coroner.:dead:dead:dead

What has Quillan been up to recently? And I'd always count Martinez in.

GGG's face bruises up easily. And it doesn't have to be cuts. It could just be a ref stoppage or corner stoppage after taking too many punches.

Mover or not, GGG has shown the ability to cut of the ring beautifully. It's like a deer trying to run away but the wolf already has it's leg

Sergio's a warrior and one of my favorite fighters in the game. He's a great fighter in the ring and a better person outside of it. I'd expect nothing less than that response; he doesn't live in a cave, and he's surely aware of the rumblings that he's ducking Golovkin. Sergio's spent too long building up his reputation the hard way to have his image tarnished now. And, as Quincy pointed out, it's now or never- a tuneup fight at his age won't do anything for him except put more miles on his odometer.

Sadly, this is a fight where Sergio's going out on his shield. I wanted him to retire on top, but GGG will knock him into retirement if they fight. Martinez has been knocked down in each of his last three fights; GGG will put him there and keep him there.

Sergio has been the kind of champion all belt holders should model themselves after. Unfortunately, his time as champ will be coming to and end

I don't give any chance to ***y Sergio to beat him at this stage. He looked so bad in his last fight I though he lost btw. I'm a big fan of Sergio and in his prime he was going to give absolute hell to Golovkin and probably win a decision or stop him late. He wouldn't do that now he'll get goodboyed into retirement.

Thank you for the great post. It's so stupid to accuse Sergio of ducking anyone. Hell I remember when he got jobbed against Cintron and had to rebuild his career again taking on Williams and getting arguably robbed again. He took the hard road to stardom and can retire tomorrow and be remembered as one of the finest fighters of his generation.

Did Sergio seemed hurt to you from that KD?? It was a balance thing. And at the time Williams was avoided like the plague probably as much as Golovkin is avoided those days.
