Newly crowned WBC Diamond middleweight champion Sergio Martinez (47-2, 26 KOs) will return to the ring in the month of July on HBO, followed by a potential return in November on pay per view, according to Martinez’s adviser Sampson Lewkowicz, adding that an opponent will be named in the next two weeks.

One of the possible names Lewkowicz is interested in is the WBA junior middleweight champion Miguel Cotto (36-2, 29 KOs), who defeated Ricardo Mayorga by 12th round technical knockout on March 12, the same night Martinez defeated Sergiy Dzinziruk.

“If Miguel Cotto really has balls, he will take the fight with Sergio Martinez no matter what his promoter Bob Arum says,” Lewkowicz said.

Why is he calling dudes out at a weight he said he can't reach? Smallish dudes at that!

Call out Margarito or go up!

Cotto shouldn't go to 160, he's not even a big 154. Martinez would make fun of him for 12 rounds if not stop him

Definitely time for Martinez to fight a legit 160 pounder even if the bigger draws are at 147-154-168

Yeah if he wants Cotto even a tick over 154,

he's a cherrehpicken' mother****er. Well, even at 154 it's still picking on little guys, but not as bad (obviously)

Martinez-Cotto at 154 is interesting. Cotto's jab will present problems.

There's just a limited number of fighters he could make a PPV with.

    Floyd
    Pac
    Cotto
    Margo (maybe)
    Bute (maybe)

If it's not with these guys I doubt it's a PPV.

looking for opponent down low and getting away with it.:-( if he do want a challenge, looking up would make people notice.

I really like Martinez but this obvious ploy to cherrypick small fighters for a payday is getting really annoying. He can make money at 168 but he wont because apparently BALLS is required only for people that fights Martinez, but not himself.

I guess dragging Dzin up is not enough. He needs more.
