How do you cherrypick the number 1 p4p fighter in the world who has won a 154 belt, a division you have campaigned in? How do you cherrypick the fighter of the decade? How do you cherrypick a top 20 ATG? How do you cherry pick the most dangerous man in boxing?

    1. He fought at 150 and quickly and voluntarily gave up the belt immediately as he realized his limits.

    2. So let me get this straight weight divisions is pointless when ATG is concerned?
So by that logic, Martinez should have no problem fighting anyone in the current Super Six since none of them are even ATG and the weight difference would be even smaller....

Oh wait... his balls disappear when we apply Martinez/your logic to MArtinez himself. We can't hold the same standards Martinez as Martinez holds others...

    Good argument.

Face it, Martinez is looking for a payday. Being P4P #1 is secondary on his list. He is 37, he knows he can't take the brave road to #1 and get paid like he can with PBF/Pac.

He is going to take the easy road to the money.

I dunno, it sure seemed to me like it happened only after Sulaiman began spreading rumors about suing Pacquiao and everyone around 154, Martinez included, started askng for a fight.

I'm sorry, has he categorically denied wanting to fight the winner of the Super Six? I would be grateful if you could come up with one available, credible name at 168 that Martinez is "avoiding." The mere fact that he hasn't beaten up any stiff with a trinket in the division above him does not strike me as a glaring hole on his resume.

Until you can come up with name on the "brave road" that he should be fighting now, you haven't really demonstrated that being P4P #1 is merely secondary to him.

Good points. Pac fans bring up the 8th division accomplishment frequently, but Pac can't defend there against good opposition. If Pac really wanted to test his ATG status, then that would have been the fight to take.

Pac would be outboxed and made to look silly by Martinez, IMO.
Since this fight has 0 chance of ever being made, Martinez needs to focus on 160-->, and Pac needs to fight the best at 140 and 147.

so floyd is fight young prime fighters now? the truth is whichever pac picks now aside form floyd or guys above 154 is a cherry-pick for his detratctors. floyd had said that he wants to fight the winner of martinez-williams and is a naturally bigger fighter than pacquiao, maybe floyd should fight martinez if he won't get in the ring with pacquiao right?

I don't buy this cherry picking bull****.

Fighting all the top ranked fighters in your weight division is not cherry picking.

Cotto, Clottey, Margarito, Mosley. He cleaned out the entire "whos-who" of the WW division with the exception of Floyd.

Who else was he supposed to fight?

Difference is that pacquiao started out as a flyweight not at lightweight. Hes only what, 5ft 6 and a half. How far do you want the guy to go. 154 is the absolute limit for him.

Dzinziruk is not exactly a cherrypick!!!! Although he never ever fought at 160 ever, he is not exactly a cherrypick.

A cherrypick is when a middleweight picks on a junior welterweight!!!!
