MArtinez is 35 years old has terrible boxing fundamentals little pop in his punches and gasses terribly, these are hardly the traits that should worry an aging boxer-brawler like Shane. Sorry but Martinez has too little defense and gets hit entirely too much to viewed as a runaway favorite in a fight vs. Mosley.

I don't think much of Sergio but Shane is very old now, so I have to favor Sergio, now Shane might be able to pull the upset since Martinez isn't that good, but make no mistake about it, Shane is on his last legs.

i like both of these guys but i have 2 say just based on shanes last fight i think this is a bad match up, maravilla i think will maybe out box him like cotto did except there would be less exchanges maravilla is i think too slick at this point for shane but i think sugar has a punchers chance idk i would just hate to see a 7th loss on sugars record i think he should just hang'em up theres no reason 2 become a stepping stone for other fighters at that point he would just become a good name to put on anyones resume

I agree that he is old, but this is a great last big shot. He definitely has more than a punchers chance against MArtinez and it is for the lineal MW title. It not like he is fight Cotto for a 154 title and just retreding old ground.

martinez wins but not as easily as mayweather.

i kind of like the fight because it will show doubters just how good money mayweather is and why martinez will call out shane and when mayweather is mentioned he says um i want to um face PW and um uh other stuff.

AND that same fighter has defied the odds in just as many fights, and although he did lose to Cotto, he looked absolutely fine. If you pay attention to boxing in more than just W's and L's and who beat who than you'd know this. And big deal, 40?? Holyfield, Foreman, Ali, Duran, Rjj, Bhop, Mario Lemiux, Brett Favre... 40 is an EXCUSE its not a cause for ****. Its psychological and anyone who disbelieves that are the people that DO age faster. he was 38 when he butt raped Margo. He still had the speed and power to rock Floyd. Like i said, IF Mosley shows up, i pick him by KO. you can have your opinion too but Mosley isn't shot in the least. He just has trouble showing up at times and that goes way back

What's the point of this fight even happening? It doesn't make sense for Martinez to give up the 154lb belt then goes out in fights a WW in his next fight. This can not be true.

The sport of boxing provides a considerable number of WHAT THE **** moments, and this is one of them.

Martinez had to choose between keeping the WBC title at 154, or keeping the title at 160. At 154 he could have made fights against Williams, Cotto, PBF, Margarito, Angulo, Dzinzurik, et.

Instead, he kept the title at 160 where there is absolutely no one to fight. Now he wants to fight a welterweight who is clearly way past his best.

This is not a good look for shane. I think martinez's movement will bother shane a lot.

Smart move by Martinez. Dumb move for Mosley.

Martinez would position himself with a common opponent setting up a Mayweather call out. Mosley would just get hurt facing a decent boxer with even more pop and readiness to sit down on punches.

I hope Mosley just sticks to WW and fights either Cotto, Pac, or even Berto, but just stick to WW.

Mosley-Martinez would probably do 250k-300k PPV buys which wouldn't be as embarrassing as 75k-100k or so for Mora. This is probably the only fight other than Cotto that would bring Martinez to PPV as well.

This is a chicken **** choice no matter how you try to spin it. Trying to justify this nonsense is ridiculous. I'm more than a little appalled by the fact that nearly every post on this thread rants about what a poor choice it would be for Mosely to take this fight. What about the so called "champion's" choices? This is chicken-**** cherry-picking, and cannot be logically viewed as anything else.
