Makes sense . . . Martinez doesn't have a legit world title belt.

Never gonna happen! Arum will have JR vacate and fight Cotto or someone else on TR before putting him in with Maravilla, this fight will never happen, by the time Chavez is ready for the step up Sergio will be long retired.

Interesting looks like Oct, 1 or 8th already being set aside for a possible Cotto Vs. Chavez fight....

    The "Scene" is Reeeeporting!

So you're saying a sanctioning body's belt is in fact more legitimate than The Ring and lineal titles? Do you perchance work for a sanctioning body?

No I'm not saying that . . . I'm just saying that it would be a lot better if he's got a recognized world title belt to compliment the ring and his lineal recognition.

Man, this aint gonna happen, they would vacate before risking Martinez. They're gonna do everything to protect that cash cow. No disrespect to JCC Jr, kids got mad heart and I really appreciate the body work, but he would need like a million Arriza shakes before he'll ever be ready for Martinez

You don't recognize The Ring title I take it?

edit: Ok I just read your last post to purephase and see where youre going with it. I'm completely cool with calling someone the man at that weight if they only have The Ring title. In fact I prefer it when a guy only has The Ring belt, and ignores other "titles".

:lol:I would like to see a third fight with PW even though he got knocked out. Anyone can be knocked out, ask Roy Jones. I just think a third would be more in line with the first one and PW might take it. At any rate, as much head as Chavez Jr puts in the line of fire he truely wont last long. He might as well just hand the grown man the belt and back into evasive training.

Well, considering Chavez has Martinez WBC belt (for some reason:roll: :patsch ). It would only be fair for Chavez to earn his belt by trying to beat the man, who should have that WBC belt, Sergio Martinez.

Pirog can wait. The way I see it, Sergio has paid his dues by taking on dangerous opponents in his last few fights. He deserves a guy with a big name. Chavez Jr, Cotto, Pac, Mayweather all fit the bill. Meanwhile Pirog needs to rack up some spectacular wins if he wants to dance with the elite. He didn't look too great in his last fight.
