The middleweight champion shouldn't be calling out welterweights (and small ones at that). This reminds me of Merchant's interview with Hopkins after the Hakkar fight when he wanted DLH: "Shouldn't the MIDDLEWEIGHT champion of the world be embarrassed to be calling out junior middleweights?"

Floyd will likely never fight Sergio. As for Pac, I do not know but I certainly will not hold it against him. Martinez will outweighhim significantly on fight night, and unlike Margarito, he'd simply be a bridge too far for the undersized Filipino.

We all need to start lobbying for a Martinez-Ward catch-weight bout.

Martinez vs. Ward/Froch you mean? :D just kidding, I think Ward will win. I have no problems either way Martinez goes. Hell, I'd be happy to see him level out JCC jr. But that fight will never happen. I do hope Sergio gets something good going soon.

I agree, floyd won't fight Martinez./ He said he'd fight the winner just to keep his name active and in the mix. A little trick he learned from his Idol, DLH.

Floyd does not fight A level fighters. At least not at their weight where they gained notoriety and respect or when they are in their prime.
Doubt he will start now. if you can name one I will believe it.

    I agree, bro.

I love Froch's grit and tenacity, but Ward has too much for him to win. Personally I believe that the only threats to Ward between 160-168 are Bute and Martinez.

Martinez vs JCC may be the best we can hope for. Unfortunately, the guy has nowhere to go at the moment. Floyd will not fight him (period); Pac ought not avoid him; and the MW ranks lack that certain luster at the moment to gin up a huge pay day.

It's too bad, really. Martinez is a good dude and a worthy title holder.

Agreed fully! I actually prefer Froch to Ward. Not that I dislike him at all. Just not my fave to watch. But can't deny his talents.

It's kinda clear that Martinez is looking to capitalize on his position. But at 160, aside from JCCjr, or possibly Sturm in Germany, not many big money fights left at 160. He could wait for some young stars to move up eventually. But at his age, can he afford that? Martinez calling out Pac anf Floyd, can't blame him for that. But not gonna happen.

After Ortiz, Mayweather's options are going to be Pac, Kahn in England and Martinez. Pac will clearly have the first shot to accept full blood testing and that's the fight everyone wants to see. Martinez doing what he needs to do and keeps calling out Mayweahter. But Kahn has the edge since he has a bigger following and offers Mayweather the possibility of the fight in England. What Martinez needs to do is fight a guy with a big name like a Cotto, Margarito, or Mosley this will then link Martinez to Mayweather for the casual fans.

Floyd needs to stop calling out guys just to tease the public, when he has no intention of facing them. First Winky, then Martinez. :-(

BTW, funny how you feel the need to include Pac's name when this is about Martinez and Mayweather. It's like the only way you can say Floyd loses is to include Pac losing too.

    I Agree... but

PBF makes Khan Look silly, doubt he will go to England also

He Wont fight Martinez right now , Id like to see it, but it wouldnt be until a couple years, which Time isnt on Sergio's side

Pac will agree to testings, but something will come up!

Martinez Whoops Mosley's ass, probably a KO (wouldnt sell well on PPV also)

Martinez Makes Cotto look Silly in a lop sided UD

Martinez Knocks Margo out for redemption.

I just wanna see Martinez Expose JCC jr ASS all over the planet, But he is Protected!

Martinez would not do any better than DLH at 154 pounds. Mayweather is too skillful for a guy who is a great fighter but didn't even have an amateur background. Martinez would get spent and possibly humilliated like Shane was.

Nah it wouldn't be that bad but Floyd wins a clear cut UD.
