Same thing I said when he was calling Pac out, can't blame a guy for trying to get a big money fight, especially at his age with not a lot of career left and no other big money fights out there. Floyds a little closer in size to Sexy Serge than Pac but still it't a stretch. It would be a great accomplishment for either Floyd or Pac though and really it would be win win for both as well. Neither's legacy would suffer with a loss to the middle weight champ but it would skyrocket them if they beat him.
The problem with Martinez is he doesn't have a big fanbase, not many casual fans know about him. Dibella could at least try to appeal to the argentine american community and make Martinez fight in Florida.
SMM schedule 2012 +Ortiz first in Jan 2012 (coming off 2 back 2back wins knocking off undefeated fighters) +Manny June 2012
If Sergio wants to cash in a big payday that comes with fighting the number 1 draw in the sport than he should come down to 147 and something could probably be worked out.
Martinez is taking over where Paul Williams left off by calling out 147 & its getting old. I know he wants that mega payday, but it ain't happening
Someone said that Floyd jr. defeated JMM with skill not with size advantage now that Sergio got that size advantage over Floyd jr., he can't fight him because of size? So the JMM issue means size did factor on that fight which is being ignored.
Pacquiao fans say Pacquiao has no obligation to fight Floyd on grounds of weight. Consider that Mayweather weighed 149 pounds 30 days from the 147 pound fight. Yet the same people say Mayweather must fight Sergio? Stick to a story. Neither need to fight Sergio, and if either did, they would be displaying testicle size which the boxing community has not seen in quite some time. Bottom line: Sergio needs to make a marketable career off himself instead of trying to use Mayweather, Pacquiao, or Cotto to do it for him. Everybody says "he is marketable!" "he is marketable!" yet he fights Darren Barker on an HBO BAD.
If Martinez is waiting on Floyd to give his broke ass a payday then hes barking up the wrong tree.:bbb:bbb:bbb
Some of those same posters think it was OK for JMM move up two divs to face Floyd but that same feat is too much of a challenge for FLOYD
