Do you think Martinez will retire or choose to fight on?I have a feeling he will retire.

Of course he will retire. He is beyond shot. Anyone that saw that fight would know that was about 20% of Sergio that night. He scammed everyone...but at least he stuck in there and took a beating.

:good Cotto wouldn't last 4 rounds with a prime Martinez.

Na Cottos left hook spells trouble for any version of Martinez

Sergio will fight again. It's only a matter of what opponent will bring in the most cash. Martinez won't leave the show and leave money on the table.

Farewell bout at home versus Jorge Sebastian Heiland. :deal

If he is victorious, it would actually help nudge Martinez slightly closer to a Cotto rematch. :-(

I hope he reties, I like him too much to see him badly injured.

true but don't you wonder what if?this is Sergio's first really bad loss.shouldnt he get a chance to redeem himself?and if he does fight on and in his next fight he is getting beat up the fight will be stopped quick it wont drag on like the cotto fight.like I said I think he retires but there's a good chance he continues fighting.his pride is probably telling him you cant go out like that man.

He should retire. Like somebody already said: I don't want to see him get seriously hurt.

yeah Sergio has actually talked about coming back to regain his title so if he wins his comeback fight its going to cause him to go on even further.who knows if that's a good or bad thing probably bad most likely.

Like most fighters, I hope he retires for his own sake.

Needs to retire, physical atributes have dimished greatly.Martinez has no boxing fundamentals.
It's quite simple in this case

Is there even one boxer who relied in his prime to athleticism, and after it was gone.still find success?

true dat maybe Martinez can become the first. he would have to change his whole style though.its not likely.
